i have this phone. i also have an iPhone3GS but ithink. as for me, W995 is good than the iPhone.

the w995 is a great phone i have one and it has never given me a problem.....people if u never buy it from vodashopb pinetown then u and your phone r faulty...DA W995 IS DA BEST

Anonymous, 03 Oct 2009Had the phone 3 days. loved it for the first 71 hours. Afte... moreYours is an exception and even though you might have "a complete software failure", it's very easy to fix by yourself - simply update the software on your phone via Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS).
That faulty batch can also be fixed in the same way.

yup,i jus bought it yesterday,well i bough this model bcoz of d stylist,i say say not bad,but nothing was perfect ,hehe...jus the ring tone not vry loud compare others...u guys can check it out..

Guess you are a fanboy of other brand. Complete software failure has never been heard in any SonyEricsson phone. It's the most famous and successful phone now. And hey, why don't you flash your phone. Nobody can believe on your false stories like whole batch is faulty and all. It's an Excellent phone. See the points and votes this phone has got.

Had the phone 3 days. loved it for the first 71 hours. After just 3 days, i have had complete software failure. Sony Ericsson have made a total batch of these faulty phones. So beware...

Can u plz tel me the detail of how 2 upda... moreNLX the procedure is simple. Take the backup your phone memory, contacts, texts via PC Suite. Remove SIM and M2 card. Run SEUS. Select your phone. Plug data cable to USB port of PC. Now click Next / Continue . Press C button from one hand say left one and plug data cable to phone from another hand. First the driver would install. Meanwhile there would be 6 steps being shown on screen. Do not release button until 7th point comes up. Release the button and follow SEUS software for next steps.

I love se, 02 Oct 2009I am an se fan and w995 has impressed me a lot want to buy ... morewell.. i am se fan too. I have w995 and would like give my opinion, that perhaps could answer your question ^^
1. fast port: file transfer from phone to computer quite slow if i compare it with w960 (w960 was my phone before i changed it to w995)
2. image display is good as you can expect from SE. i love se for the lovely pics on the display. the pics look okay to me.
3. speakers are good , again if you compare it to w960. i don't know much about speaker other se phone but i can say it is good. (anyway.. the music output from
headphone is awesome... again.. as you can expect from SE)
4. kickstand. i haven't used it yet but it can support the phone quite well.
5. keypad is so comfort, seemed durable to me. i compliment this phone for its keypad. it is very soft, so easy to press. i've heard that C series have a bad keypad that will crack or something,
but i haven't found anything like that in this phone. maybe cause i only have using it for 1 month?
6. it has flash, the resolution is vga (640x480), 2mp,5mp,8mp (1mp and 3mp option are not available). camera quality in dark is good. but still good lighted enviroment
can produce more impressive pics.
7. the battery cover is soo thin... so you must be careful when you open it. 8mp logo, it comes out. at least it hasn't vanished yet till now ^^.
9, i don't really understand this question so i can't answer it. but as for my experience, if you turn off this phone, you will need to wait for about 2 minutes before you
can turn it on again. don't know why. if you try to press the on/off butten as soon as it turned off, nothing will happen, so i usually wait.
if i can suggest, the phone is good. still the best of walkman phone out there to me. it still have some problem like the volume key which is so small that almost hardly
pressed, in contrary, the walkman button is so easy to press that i almost always hit it when i want to press the volume key. the position of walkman button is not
strategic so i barely used it. but not problem like you worried about

Hahaha....bought tis fon @day....so happy i am...
bought with Rm1400-----400 USD....much cheaper tan n86
ok...im update from w810....so tis fon have all the old fon had...
so i din lose any function or spec at all...
however....the camera did not impress me.....may be i try it at night...but the LED flash really 'blinding'!!!
Its too bright !!!
In a nut shell,i LOVE my black W995....no regret at all...

I am an se fan and w995 has impressed me a lot want to buy this phone.just wanted to know about w995 from the users..need few suggestions from them...
1.howz the hardware & slider mechanism especially the fast port..i have the w760 & its port is very loose so having a lot of problems...
2.i love se display but howz 240x320 pixels on such a large 2.6' screen..is it impressive and fun to use...how the pictures look...
3.music output & stereo through speakers...i know music quality is the best !!
4.kickstand...weak or strong or average
5.keypad quality..is it durable...
6.camera quality in dark compared to that of sunlight...are those pictures impressive on pc as the daylight pics...does it have flash or simply a stupid photo light as in w705 which is of no use in taking pics..which resolutions can we choose for taking pics..1mp/2mp/3mp/5mp ofcourse we can choose 8mp..
7.howz the battery cover...and that 8mp logo..does it really vanishes or comes out...
9.freeze or out turn off/on problems..
I am asking so much because i bought w760 without any research and opinions..i love the phone its awesome but i have faced a lot of extreme and unbearable problems too..suggestions from more users will be helpful..
