CONGRATULATIONS on your purchase !!! Yes there are apps. Go to Esato.com and Lasyk.com. It will help you. Use EBuddy app for all clients chatting. Download maps for you city from Wayfinder to use with GPS. Your phone is DLNA certified WiFi machine. Give yourself some time. Read the manual provided. Learn like how to activate CELL INFO here for eg. There is lot more to discover. There are links given below in different post. Do watch them like the tutorial one. Congratulations again. You have made the best, smart and the beautiful deal.

ive just bought the w995, playing around on the fone i think its bin the best SE in a long time ive always had SE since my 1st fone.
the apps on the w995 are good but is there more you can downlaod? and do they cost? or can you use th WI-FI?
also msn on the w995 WI-FI or mobile internet?

TRUE playlist creation is something you'll never get used to, but other than that, I found it easy to organise my media using the software. In my case I must say it had a 5-6 hours learning curveso it's not all that complicated, it could do with a few more features but let's keep in mind that it's only the first version. I'm sure SE will upgrade it. Cheers!

I put a plastic cover/tape on the prints, the sony ericsson at the front, m2 at the side, and 8.1 mp at the back. To prevent it from fading.

Camera is good but if you want to capture "precious" moments, use a (digital) camera! Period!
Media Go software SUCKS as is does NOT support Drag n Drop from PC desktop/Win Explorer into the program.
It'll import iTunes media/music but organizing them can and will be a hassle. Playlist creation is a PAIN!

The flash is "OK" but, remember, that the phone is REALLY meant as a Walkman, hence, W for walkman phone!
You can get decent pictures especially day/close-up shots but forget about night/long-distance shots!

Apparently, SE got CHEAP and used stickers for the names and it DOES peel off with usage!
It does not affect the phone's usage just the appearance and makes one wonder why SE got so damn cheap!
Get a clear case to preserve the phone!

You should be able to read Chinese characters in the media player! I can read it on mine as well as Japanese characters.
Yes, the flash isn't that bright and phone isn't that good for night shots!
Yes, the Facebook key is apparently on the Asian version especially if it comes from the Hong Kong market! It's made specifically for the Asian market. NONE of the European models reported have that feature (yet)!
There's only 2 versions: w995 (original) and w995a for the Americas!
Do the following to see if it helps:
1. Update the phone's firmware
2. Re-rip or re-import the songs.
- If you used iTunes to rip the songs, then it's NOT a problem. Just drag n drop the songs into the media drive.
- Good luck using Media Go! That software SUCKS! Never tried using it for rips just imported all iTunes music/media over it to try it!
- You may have better success in re-ripping your songs.
- Remember to set the bit rate, preferably 320k, the highest available! No lossless version is available!

Hello everyone...Is it possible to change the colour of the metal body parts of w995? coz i have a silver colored one and i wud like to change to a black colored one? if it is possible? how much will it cost for the black colored body parts in Indian rupees and can i get it done at sony ericsson authorised service centres? plzzzz reply guyzzzzz...
