im confused over the w995 and the c905. i want to experience clear, studio recorded-like audio and a bass as deep as the sea. at the same time i would like my phone to deliver sharp photos without overexposure under the sun or either getting my photos too washed out when its dark. help me decide over the C905 or the W995!!! this 2 phones are so GOOD. oh and btw im ownin a w995 now.

Nte is also good but W995 is the ultimate in Music. Never thik twice because let alone Non-SE phones, even SE Walkman phones can come close to it. It's simply superb and awesome! We're having a whole group of music lovers as proud owners of W995.

Btw I love this phone so much after I sell my best W980 due to software problem. But its camera quality suck. A bit unbearable to its 8MP. lose to my cybershot and N95 too much.

I using 2 phones now, 5800XM and W995, i change my phone every half year, but i must have a walkman phone because i tried other sony ericsson products and music quality not good as walkman. if u love music, walkman (especially clear audio one) is irreplacable. But if want play software u beter extra buy another OS phone.

I used this mobile for more than one year and I missed it before 20 days. I had a little confusion to buy this mobile back or to buy Xperia mini pro. My first choice is music. Then only internet and other things. So please someone tell me which one is best to buy. Thanks in advance.....

I jz bought a 2nd hand W995 na di absolutely LOVE IT. I jz writing a review about dis phne and my opinion is as follows.
The display is pretty bright and delivers sharp, vivid pictures to my eyes. Well of course u cant compare it to the iPhone4's retina display or Samsung's Super Amoled. But for a mid-range phne, dis display is like no other. Next up we come to the music. SERIOUSLY, its better than an MP3/4 player. Experience music like u're in a concert or watch movies like in a cinema. Dis monster delivers GREAT sound through any headphones if u have one. =) Oh and not forgetting about the camera, i wonder what SE put in the lenses of the W995 but pictures produced are of a digital camera quality ones. The build is also quite sturdy for its size as i dropped it several times on concrete floors and its still working. And the previous owner did me a favour by dropping it really hard.. and its still working. =) so i'd say GET THIS PHONE~~!

I have had the W995 for one week, buying it in Kuala Lumpur for 580 Malaysian $ = 193 USD (probably could have haggled a better price). I am very pleased with the performance of it, my first smartphone.
The 8mp camera takes very good pics, better than my old SE k800i. Low light pics are quite acceptable. With the on-board photo software you can make many of the usual changes (contrast, etc) but also 'frills' such as frams and the addition of text and clip art. You will not get high quality as from a digital camera, but even with my old 3mp SE K800i I printed pics up to 5x7 with nice results.
It has a solid well-built feel. The battery lasts longer than most smart phones - I suppose 3-4 days with light use, however if you stay on the internet all the time or do other energy-draining tasks then with any phone you are going to deplete the battery in a day or less.
I spent several hours comparing specs and user comments and decided it was a choice between another Sony-Ericsson or an Android, but all comments about (low to mid-priced) Androids were that the battery lasted a day at most and sometimes only a few hours. The LG, Samsung and HTC Androids I looked at were also physically larger than the W995 and were approx twice as expensive.
The volume from the speakers, and ring/text tones is excellent. I can watch Youtube videos and have to turn the sound down from maximum (although in a noisy Starbucks I had to hold it to my ear as I did not have the headphones). I had considered getting a SE 'Hazel' but that had low volume and problems with signal strength (phone calls).
Video quality is very good, better than I expected from WQVGA, probably due to the impressive 30 fps. Even on our 42 inch LCD TV the video looks good (although of course not 1080p HD quality), and is far far better than the pathetic video on my old K800i.
Internet: Good for Facebook, GMail and News / Weather / Sports / Blogs. You can also enter any URL, but not all web pages have a mobile phone format. AFAIK it does not do Skype (correct me if I am wrong). However if you really want good internet usage then spend more $$ and get a larger screen Android and put up with a shorter battery time.
In conclusion, I think the W995 is good for the price and small size. My next smartphone will probably be a larger screen Android - when their batteries last longer and when I figure how to cope with carrying around a larger size phone.
Final comment: You will see a few very critical comments saying this phone is rubbish. If you read the comments for ANY phone you will find someone who hates it, or got a faulty phone with problems, or caused the problems through mis-use. There ARE better phones than the W995, but you will have to pay more and cope with other shortcomings. No phone is perfect; all will have something that someone will not like. Read *all* comments of all phones that you are considering before you make a decision.

Firm, 30 Jul 2011I've had this phone for 2 years now, it is rubbish, worst s... moremust only be u thats experiencing such issues..shame..u dont seem like very nice character, neither do u speak with intellegence..ur comment doesnt make the phone look bad u look impractical and not the phone..ofcorse ebuddy wont work..ITS NOT A RIM OR BLACKBERRY DEVICE...theres apps that works perfectly and apps that just wont, so unless u know excactly what will work or not by doing ur homework and not just trying everything then getting frustrated and "impractical" rather keep ur comments to urself....as the w995 i had for a year and a half worked absolutly awesome, no issues with any feature or apps...:)

i had this phone for about a year and a half and absolutley loved it.The 8Gigs memory card was definetley in favour as well as the 8Megapixel camera, took very smart pictures. The volume on the phone was at the time the loudest than what i have heard on any other mobile of that time and also the video calling feature was fantastic.I dont think that if there was not blackberry right now that i wouldv gotten another mobile,as the w995 did all for me at the time. The problem about some mobile phones is that they look better than what they work, thats why its imperrative that you view all specs of any mobile that you are interested in order to make sure that you not only purchasing the best mobile , but the best mobile for you. :)
