Be... moreOMG,, another lame comment.. unlike Idou, this phone has its pre-production released already, that's why gsmarena already give the review of it, you can READ it from there about the audio quality, and if you say they're not trusted source, well i do trust them because they review so many phone, they understand phone quality, and they are not brand maniac stupid like many other people YOU can see here included YOU, they give fair comment on pros and cons. You can say so with Idou because Idou is far from release and we don't really know what Idou can do, but w995 is different. this w995 will be release Q2, it's soon release in 2009 NOT 2010. EVEN THE BRAND NEW nokia 5730, it has 2.4" display.
unlike YOU, i'm not any hardcore brand phone, I'm not a SE fan either. BUT, i do research much about phone. Let's see samsung, the "haven't release" M-6710 beatdisc having the same display of 2.6".. Let's see LG, ALOT of non touchscreen phone with display less than 2.6" are not released yet. sorry man, if you say this is obsolete for 2010, u should save up money, just buy model that release at 2015..
Btw it's okay if YOU can't accept this phone, people can think by themselves about this phone acceptable or not. SE won't go bankrupt even though u cant accept this model. good luck man. really, u are laughable to say SE has bad audio quality, please that is the lamest 1 i ever heard. You can say it's (-) for not smartphone, but bad audio quality ? all people can know already you are just another scammer.

This phone not been released!
SE has the tendency not to release audio specs!
This phone will be expensive!
Expensive and no special features!
You are lucky if get it before Xmas.
new model and you compare it to old models - it is very smart! :)
For me 2.6 inch screen and 15mm thickness with this features are unacceptable for the 2010 market.
having a lousy Mp3 player in a phone does not cut it any more - only SE fans satisfied with that.
Others include projector, HD recording, excellent camera, good OS, touch screen, hand writing recognition,.
The fact that others what they have done in the pastis not relevant. Probably much less expensive models and for different users.
Bottom line:
IF you like expensive phones with limited features with a lousy mp3 player - this phone is for you.
The rest of us get something more useful.

We did in the past that is the reason SE sales figures are so low and Se have been loosing money (NO profit!!!!) and loosing market share !!!!! while others gaining 30-200% in 1 year.
Of course there are always a few hardcore fans who get anthing as long as SE.

This phone is another joke from SE! (**no, it's not**)
1: thick (**so what ? maybe you can compare it with nokia 5800 that share pretty much same thickness, it's still pocket friendly, as long as it still pocket friendly, nothing wrong with it**)
2: lousy camera pictures and horrible video (**the camera is nice with 8 mp, i know u cant compare it with all those cameraphone, this is walkman phone, btw, even the best cameraphone cant compare to real professional DSLR camera, so camera in the phone should be enough to capture the moment only, it does it jobs pretty well, if you want real photography, please buy a camera not a phone**)
3: OS? No OS ? no file viewer? (**then ? even if i have file viewer, i won't use it.. many people like me.. if this is an issue for you, then this phone just not for you. even if it no OS, there's still plenty of application available for it**)
4: small screen for a large phone - area area unused or buttons - no touch screen, handwriting recognition (**this is the lamest thing you mention.. this is a LARGE screen for a small phone, and WTF, is it a must for a phone to have a touch screen ? even nokia and any other brands producing a phone without touchscreen. see N86 8mp for example. if you don't know, many people don't like touchscreen, if because of this make this phone is a joke, u must be joking**)
5: no xenon flash (**yeah too bad, better have xenon flash, LED is better for video, but SE is not making phone for video capturing.. somewhat i agree with it, still LED can be use as a torch, it's quite handy**)
able to play mp3 so what - for 300-500 USD? or Euro?
This phone got nothing special - practically identical to a plain 200 USD or Euro phone.
(** waw, another lame comment. it has quite big screen, accelerometer censor, WiFi, nice camera interface (read from the review), kickstand, 8 GB mmc included, latest 4.0 walkman from SE, if you don't know, this phone has the best audio quality, standart 3.5mm jack.. tell me what 200 euro phone for all this ? what i know, all phone with Wifi come with quite pricey, even the most affordable xm from nokia which is 5800 is 280 euro before tax**)
(Euro= USD since in the US the phones are much cheaper)

Your definition of smart phone?
You mean smartphone which very capable and walkman phone which has little or no features?
The problem is that SE sells lousy phones which can play mP3 and nothing else for the price of smart phones.
Why would anybody limit features when the price is the same.
there are smartphones and dummy phones.
When the price similar I prefer the smart ones. I guess you like the dummy - with lousy features.

I think this w995's design really distinct and has that strong character.. The shape, kickstand and it blend with that unique graphics themes..
