I have used 2 SE phones in past. Now I am using Nokia E72 and since then I was hoping to use a phone like this SE. But after reading the specs I found there is a major cons there, which is the resolution. I believe that is quite low for high end phone. Hope SE will increase the resolution in final release.

This is the only phone that I've seen which is actually JUSTIFIED in having capacitive Android buttons.

Normally I DESPISE such capacitive buttons as they are an ergonomic disaster which are there on HTC etc. devices merely as a fashion fad. However, the fact that this device is completely waterproof is the ONLY reason that I see such capacitive buttons EVER being justified.

Why is the lanyard hole on this so big?! Most phones already have such a hole so why did they need to ruin what is quite a cool phone with this big thing jutting out in the corner?

Hi All.. Thank you for stopping to read my review. I have been using this phone over a year now. I have been very happy with the audio and video quality. But the only draw back is the battery. 1.6 ver was sad. But the 2.1 is gr8 with many option that I hardly use. I am planning to upgrade to 2.2. Please advice

Anonymous, 07 Aug 2011Just a thought... do we really need dual-core CPU in our mo... moreIMO a multi-core CPU could be improve overall performance if the os (firmware) and apps are designed to use the advantage of multi-core capabilities such as improving multitasking experience, reducing power consumption or capable to run a desktop class internet browser.

About HD video, I don't see from any point of view it is an interesting feature if I only watch the movies on a 4.5 inch screen size at max, watching on this size of screen or smaller already convenience with D1/ wvga resolution. If you like to collect HD movies then it's better if you watch them on a hdtv.

Just a thought... do we really need dual-core CPU in our mobile phones? Where is the line between the modern mobile phone and the modern netbook?

As i see it, mobiles should be for used for communication, and some advanced features (GPS, emails, limited internet browsing,...) while other should stay in domain of computers. I just dont see the point of wathing HD movies on my mobile for 20 minutes before i need to recharge it again. Sure its the technological advancment, but i guess some people really need all this.

So to all those who argue why Motorola Defy is better mobile than this one: ITS JUST A MOBILE PHONE! It has limited purpose, and every 5-7 months there is new version of it on the market. Buy which suits you best, and give it a rest.

Defy is not actually waterproof,as written in its phone manual, its not ip67 certified where as xperia active is!Active also has ANT+ wireless technology and inbuilt barometer sensor!!!
Please do not exaggerate. Defy+ is is 1 GHz single core processor with gingerbread but it will still not have front camera for video calls and that motoblur will never be able to compete with timescape.
And what about the Bravia Engine even though the defy has a little higher pixel density?
                                  The ultimate conclusion-
defy is in no comparison with xperia active

Anonymous, 05 Aug 2011I prefer this phone more than Defy.Anonymous why are u hiding ur name?

How can u compare a 1 year old phone Moto Defy with much better specs with a new release SE Active.

Active is outdated with 17mm, 320Mb, low 192ppi, no Gorilla glass, 320*480 screen size, bat 1200mAh very small, no, no, no u are just fan of SE.

What is better in 2011 we have super ultimate phones like Atrix 4G, Photon 4G, Droid X2, Droid 3, Droid Bionic, Moto Pax, AtrixHD 4G and all Dual core and even Quad core Moto Jet and Bullet.

And probably Defy 2 with Dual core.

                                      Sorry for SE user.
