Moby Dick, 04 Aug 2011Active beats DEfy on several areas, where the defi beats it... moreI disagree in many point.

        1. Defy meet the IP67 standard

        http://www.mediacenter.motorola.com/Fact-Sheets/Motorola-DEFY-Fact-Sheet-3606.aspx

        2. Defy was available in Sept 2010 vs Active June 2011.

        3. Defy is a rugged phone with a big battery 1540mAh but thin 13mm like X10 not a rugged phone.

        4. Defy have 2Gb internal Mem and 2Gb included vs Active 320Mb internal and 2Gb external.

        5. Defy have big screen 480*854p vs Active 320*480p

        6. Defy have higher pixel density 240ppi vs Active 192ppi.

        7. Defy thinner 13mm vs 17mm on Active.

        8. Defy have Adobe Flash vs Active none.

        9. Defy have Gorilla glass vs Active none.

        10. Awesome
support at XDA developers with android 2.2 (got 2.3 and more) vs Active no big support yet still news

        11. Defy have Cristal Talking Plus.

        12. Defy can connect with Digital Living Network
        Alliance (DLNA®) technology,
        connecting you to compatible
        devices like HDTVs, game
        consoles or PCs.

        Now Defy+ with 1Ghz CPU, Android 2.3.

Moto is better because this phone it's one year old the Active but still have better specs.

        Defy 2 is coming ...

Active beats DEfy on several areas, where the defi beats it on just one: the size of the screen.
Xperia active has some nice features that i find quite interesting. I like hiking in the mountaints- WITHOUT worrying about my phone been wet, dirty or anything like that.
Here are som specs that makes the active quite unike:
-Dragontrail glass. The dragontrailglass is sort of the seccond genereation of gorrillaglass. It is mouch more tougher nad can be be bendt.
          http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpbOoQpwAFs
-The screen can be used when wet. Perfectly on rainy day.
          -ip67 water and dustresistant.
-the big ring to conect anything.
-ANT+. This is a standard bluetooth profile for connecting to sport-related accessories like steptracker for the nikeshoes, bycyclecomputer or heartratetransmitter.
-powerfull processor. This is very true, considering the low resolution 320x480 pixels. Xperia active is using the exaxt same prosessor as xperia play and arc.
          - It is compact. Active can be consithered as the active version of xperia mini wich makes it small and neat.

          Negatives
-Battery? Te powerfull prosessor and a 1200mha battery can be a problem when youre away from electricity for more than a week- nice thing is that the battery is user replaceable.
-The screen. The screen is too small for this phoen. SE should have made it 3,2inch or 3,3 like the ray.
-Small screen resolution? In theory the screen resolution on the active is a bit low but the screen isnt all that big either. The biggest problem about this resolution is the lack of support for some apps in market.

'The xperia active is the perfect outdoor phone for me and I am shure many other who likes a tough and powerfull phone would get this small little bugger.
This is the perfect second spare phone!

zang, 28 Jul 2011Guys what do you think about Motorola Defy. How does this c... moredefy + is coming on at&t. it has 2.3 gingerbread and 1 GHz processor. everything else is exactly the same but still i would suggest active because it has wet finger tracking and we soon would be able to make video calls through g talk.moreover the 4 corner timescape is better than motoblur.

If this is the middle range average Android mobile phone.... I like it. Nothing wrong with CPU speed and integraded amount of RAM. Some of current middle range Android mobile phones have less RAM/slower CPU and they sell. With Xperia Active get a lot in the bundle. I just hope its reasonable priced. (=
