Then press the menu button and choose settings. In that, choose the notification tone option and change the message tone. For me it is working. No need to wait for any update, set your own tone as you wish...

From there you can see a lot of ringtones. I selected "Tinkle" ringtone but unfortunately it was not applied. Have you tried changing your notification ringtones and it works? It's not really a big deal to me but everytime I received a text message, email or facebook message, most of the time I have missed to read immediately because the deafult notification ringtone is not loud enought. I used "Tinkle" as my notification ringtone from my previous Xperia X10 and it's really loud. Well, it could be a bugs in my unit but I just hope when we get the 2.3.4 (4th quarter this year?) this problem of mine will be fixed. Thank you.

Don't know why. But for changing the message ringtone, go to messages>settings>notifications. Change it there.

I don't have a problem changing the Phone Ringtone. If you go to SETTING then SOUND and you will find PHONE RINGTONE and NOTIFICATION RINGTONE. Under Notification Ringtone, you can find different ringtones but unfortunately I cannot change the default ringtones.

This is really very surprising, Now (in this 4th generation) days a handset made without Secondary camera. I want to let Sony Ericsson Corporation know by this blog how they made Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc a very expensive hand set without secondary camera for 3g full support.

recently i purchased SE arc.could anyone please share with me regarding the latest upgrade..?..does it really need any upgrade ( firmware)..?...my kernel version 2.6.32.9...it will be appreciated if anyone share with me regarding this phone hands on experience or SE branded phone as i m a new SE phone user.thanks

Although I'm a SE fan, I've chosen Sensation because it's dual-core, with more RAM and is better built, these features will make the sensation serve me mo' time. However, if there was a SE dual-core phone I would buy it without any doubts =)
PS Why not Samsung - because it's build quality is poor and Touch wise UI does not seam appealing to me

I tried many notification ringtones available that comes with the Arc but it does not change at all. Is this a possible bug that should be fixed on the next FW update. Anyone of you guys have the same experience changing Notification Ringtone (I really wanted to change the default notification ringtone is not loud enough to hear unlike SOFT BELL, TINKLE, ORBIT or REED notification ringtones available on the unit). Thank you for any help guys.

[deleted post]well, I had a N97, loved the design of the E7 and the new symbian is ok but I went for the arc instead. much more safer buy than a Nokia, at least after the fiasco with n97 and his lack of reliability.
So, I would say if you don't mind loosing money, yes, you should leave your e7 and upgrade for an arc. much better

At the moment you have to upload video to youtube and then share it to facebook.

Guys, how to share or upload to our Facebook account a video clip recorded thru Xperia Arc. Picture is ok but when you upload or "share' a video clip. Facebook is not included in the Options menu. Do we need a third-party app to do this job? Again, thank you guys for your help!

Hey guys i have an E7 and one of my friends jus bought an ARC, i kinda feel like buying the ARC because it looks way better than my E7. should i buy the ARC or keep my E7?
