ok so i work in a popular high street phone store, and had the opportunity to test this out today! my initial reactions were that it was just a glorified X10, but it is much better than that.
The screen and camera are both amazing, the 1GHZ processor computes taks with ease,and the shape of the handset feels great in your hand and looks great. i compared this against the Xperia play, Galaxy S, iPhone 4 and the LG optimus 2X, and the ARC is easily the best out of the lot. I expect sony ericsson to do really well with this especially with it being on 2.3 Gingerbread.
Screen - 9/10
Usability - 8/10
camera - 10/10
Looks - 10/10
Get this and you will not be dissapointed...

Please understand me, I'm not saying mp is not i... more Seeing ARC´s design there is nothing left to say . i believe tht ARC have first class quality , if someone dissagre or they dont wish to beleive the truth , plz just disappear from here . SE 2010 i thought HTC have good quality , but let me to tell you quality of DHD sucks , i have one but im not satisfied with it . but if we talk for Samsung , i think they are same level as ZTE if not more down .
You told them very good , but not all can understand ;)

I don't understand why GSM Arena had no HDMI cable in the box. I brought my Arc direct from Sony Ericsson & I had a HDMI cable in my box.

Please understand me, I'm not saying mp is not important. I'm saying that quality is the thing that really matters. So, it's amazing to have an 8mp & 12 mp camera but does these cameras really perform great?!
And this is the thing about LG and Samsung, they advertise that they record in 1080p so you say wow full HD! Then it must be the best. But when you compare it with S/E you find that even with 720p Sony is much better.
Same goes with the OS, you hear that Galaxy s has 2.2 you say wow let me get it, and then it's all laggy,buggy and slow. So, even 2.1 performs better than it.
Bottom line, quality matters and play a major role. And I would never pay for something that provides me with flawed specs that doesn't stand for what they claim.
That's the reason I stick to Sony because I know this as a fact that their quality is miles ahead any cheesy samsung or LG. Moto is not even there because their quality is just a disgrace for the whole mobile community!

I just got he arc. I am using samsung galaxy slcd. its anytime faster than galaxy. The display is not bright conpare to galaxy but the resolution are awesone. Very super clear. I am still exploring this. Nice and very elegance.kudos to sony.

By the way I want to point out that people should not be fooled with shiny specs because what really matters is the experience and quality more than anything. This is a good example where LG records in 1080p while the Arc only is capable of 720p yet it wins hands down:

Also, although the Galaxy had 2.2 while the X10 was only on android 2.1 but the Galaxy was so laggy and it needed lagfix from XDA to survive. Again, this shows us that specs are not everything and that even with less specs Sony is performing better because we are speaking about quality here! Something that major players like Samsung and LG still lack.

Without a front camera (video call camera) at-least I dont think its better to buy...just check more

But who knows, maybe that the new Galaxy S 2 is an awesome, and fast phone! :) I own a Samsung phone now, and I don't want to lie... I like Samsung too! :) Now please look at SE. They have always Software problems! :( So SE has their problems too my friend. Now I am happy, because they releasing their phones much faster, but last year they had problems with this.
And there is a thing that is killing me. Internal storage. If SE is so good why they did not make phones with 8/16 GB of internal storage?? Because it will be slow?
You should change your name to 2011 soon! :)

[deleted post]I saw the video, and the Arc can take awesome videos! The colors are much more realistic! :) You gave that example with a 3.2 Mp camera. It is also hard to believe that an old 3.2 MP camera can beat a new 8 MP camera. I KNOW that the sensor is everything(as many people are saying), but this is not really true. If MP is NOT important than why companies make phones with 12 MP cameras?? The N8 has a 12 MP camera and NOT a 3.2 one. MP is also IMPORTANT. If you have a 12 MP camera, you can zoom freely, because it has a lot of MP, and the quality of your picture will be awesome! If you try to zoom with a 3.2 Mp camera you will see the difference!
Please don't talk about those fake Chinese phones, because they are lying! They say that their phone has a 8 MP camera, and it has only 2 MP!! Please don't believe them.

The user reviews and the looks of the Arc are just super... but i m confused between the HTC Incredible S and the SE Arc... if money is no object, which ones u think may i opt for ?
