mohit, 15 Jun 2012planning to upgrade to ICS - read a few posts here that say... moreWe have the same fear before and I said I will just wait ICS for my new Sony Xperia S where ICS will run better on SXS because of its 1.5MHz dual core CPU and 1GB of RAM. But when ICS is available in our region, I tempted to upgrade my Xperia Arc to ICS. I was really surprised that my Xperia Arc is running so smooth, even faster and maintain higher RAM than Gingerbread before. The only issue I've got is the bluetooth, sometimes it sends picture, sometimes it does not. I need to "unpair" and "pair" to my other phones, like SXS, to make it works.

I've been using this phone since one year...been updating each time a new one comes.
I think GB's last update (4.0.2.0.A.0.62) was muxh laggy. I was really experiencing much problem. But, i think after updating my with ICS made my phone much faster and smoother. The only problem is at the start, later it gets much smooth. The only problem i'm experiencing are:
            1. Phone behaves weird when charging(this was in GB as well as now in ICS).
            2. The chrome in the housing is peeling off ( i think its coz of my sweaty hand :'( ).
            3. Most of the games are laggy like temple run, asphalt 6. But , as a single core phone i can understand the reason.

Else wise, THIS PHONE IS WORTHY. The few reason are listed why i love this phone:
            1. Camera is superb. Especially in macro which i mostly prefer. When i bought this phone there was no zoom functionality available. Bt after update ( in GB, i guess its was .42) this functionality came. Also, exmor sensor works awesome. Compared at night with iPhone 4 and believe me ARC's the winner.
            2. Display is brilliant. With Mobile Bravia engine, HD movies or music videos is worth watching.
            3. Despite of the chrome part, overall housing is great. My GF dropped my phone which made a dent near HDMI port but, i was amazed that it is still working. And there is NO CRACK near proximity sensor( i am saying this because i've it from lot of people).
            4. Music quality is awesome in both headset and phone's speaker. Xloud feature works at its best making the phone scream.
            5. The main attraction is this phone's design. Girls love when its in my hand :). And most of the peolew say that its material is cheap. But, they are stupid in my opinion. Phone feels great and sturdy.

Thanks sony for this great phone..also for ICS :)

planning to upgrade to ICS - read a few posts here that say the phone lags a bit (initially at least)and that uses too much RAM after the update...my question is how significant is the lag, and how long does the problem last? do you (people who've upgraded to ICS) feel the Arc's performance is better on ICS (should I risk it - because I'm fairly happy with my Arc running on 2.3). What real advantages does the ICS offer on the Arc (with its limitation - single core processor, limited RAM and no secondary camera)?
