andi, 28 May 2012The ICS 4.0.4 will roll-out starting or anytime this week, ... moremaybe i should stick with my GB 4.0.2.A.0.62 which is more stable and fast without having any bugs or problems. I have play a lot of games like sonic, sentinel and Asphalt-6 without any lags....
not unless ICS 4.0.4 will show good performance same as what i am experiencing with my GB at the moment. Then, that's the time for me to upgrade...will be monitoring any users comments regarding ICS 4.0.4 if available for this coming days or weeks for our xperia arc.

Anonymous, 29 May 20127.2 mbps! Does your carrier provide downloading speed beyon... moreDude! First of all i m expecting u to understand that 7.2 mbps here means mega bits and not mega bytes per second.
I don't know ur indian or not doesn't matter i am but what u should think is that 7.2 mbps is max theoritical speed.u'll never get anything like that in reality wheather u live in india or US.but the phones which compete with arc with similar budget have 2x or even 3x times hsdpa speeds ie of 14.4 or 21.1 mbps.7.2 mbps hsdpa is on budget phones and lower midrange phones.

Anonymous, 29 May 20127.2 mbps! Does your carrier provide downloading speed beyon... more7.2mbps would be mega bits per second and the regular download speed we see in our browsers is in mBps, mega bytes per second. Note difference between capital B for Bytes small b for bits. 1 Byte = 8 bits. So divide that 7.2 by 8 and you will get the download speed you are looking for which would be around .975mBps. But i have hardly come across anything so fast. Also I have noticed that sometimes the phone lags while downloading and then it surges to very high download speeds for a few seconds. This maybe because of the data being buffered either in the phone or the network. I use 2G usually and when I am downloading I get a speed of 26kBps max. During this time if I do something on the phone like open an app or launch settings, the download speed decreases for a moment and then it surges to 32 or 35 kBps and then stabilises back to 25 or 26kBps. This is why guessed there would be a buffer somewhere...

ICS 4.0.4 for Xperia Arc has just started rolling-out. It's about time you check through PC Companion if ICS is already available in your region.

Hello everyone. The there is another few hours for the latest android update. We’d like to bring you up to speed with recent developments in our Android 4.0 software rollout.
First up, the rollout plans for the Xperia NXT series (Xperia S, Xperia P and Xperia U) are progressing as planned. The first smartphone to be upgraded will be Xperia S, starting from the end of June. Then Xperia P will follow, whilst Xperia U will receive it a little later in Q3. As always we will keep you in the loop with the latest info as soon as we can.
For our 2011 range, as you know, we began our Ice Cream Sandwich software upgrade with Xperia arc S, Xperia ray and Xperia neo V last month.
Now, we are happy to confirm that the remaining 2011 smartphones; Xperia arc, Xperia neo, Xperia mini, Xperia mini pro, Xperia pro, Xperia active and Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman will start to receive their updates starting from next week.*
This software upgrade will be Android version 4.0.4 and the good news is that this latest version will also be made available for Xperia arc S, Xperia ray and Xperia neo V users, who received Android 4.0.3 the first time around.

The problem with sony in 2011 was that their flagship arc and budget device mini had most features same.i mean only 320 user available memory n 7.2 hsdapa for it's flagship that costs around 22 k INR And the same for a budget device like mini too.U got to make maker ur flagship rather more feature rich.arc s did change that with 1.4 ghz n 14.4 hsdap but nothing much diffrent other than this.
