Holy s**t,
look at the hits, 70% with 334891 hits. So many discussion/interest about this. And wow look at the votes. SE Arc, you got my money. To me your CPU and no secondary camera is no big deal. I'm not looking to turn you into a PC, thus dual core is just a waste of money and battery. Looking forward to meet your cousin in February. Your sexy body plus the latest os is a plus..

No doubt there are a lot to look forward to this year's gadgets. Of all the smartphone gadgets i've seen at CES, one of the most stylish smarphones is the ARC. I gotta hand it to Sony, they've redesign the phone albeit not so much on the specs. Comparing to the other powerhouse smartphones, they tend to look bulkier and almost the same as each other.

so this time SE is one step ahead and even is testing android 2.4 on arc
Sony and google are 2 most reliable companies in the world and both have good relationship with each other so expect more from SE android phones in future!

It was the SE's first android experience, in times when android was just starting to shape up and had a minor share on the market. Not many have expected such high pace of development for android and such fast releasing of new versions.
SE paid the price for the lack of experience and timescape/mediascape UI which was hard and demanding for upgrade.
Finally, they probably decided that x10 is a thing of less priority after a more than a year after the release. The software upgrades will still roll out, but putting new android on it is too complicated and would also, if implemented, jeopardise the sales of upcoming midrange SE android phones.

Anonymous, 10 Jan 2011Here, for all fools who are barking about the bad SE update... morethe Arc might be a good phone on its own, and if SE have learned from its mistakes, then why are the X10 owners being left out early? only barely a year on the handsets, and no support already? come on, the x10 series have SUPERIOR hardware by the time they were released, and packaged with a promise that it can be updated with (it comes with 1.6 when other phones are releasing 2.2) recent and future version of android. but SE dropped the ball on us.

SE like Motorola used to be on top. but both falter and nokia became number one. now, motorola is slowly coming back and SE with this phone seems to follow suit. and sad to say nokia is the one falling now.

"Mr Skogberg promises timely updates to the next versions of Android for the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc: "It’s too early to officially give detailed comments around specific later Android versions for XperiaTM arc during its lifecycle BUT THE CHANGES WE HAVE MADE TO OUR WAY OF WORKING WITH ANDROID puts us in a good position to make sure that Xperia arc will get later versions in a timely manner."
Drop the x10 already.
SE learned and from now on, it's a whole another experience! New times have begun.

RONALD, 10 Jan 2011i think nokia n8 has beter camera then this phone ,what u thinki think u are wrong . XPERIA ARC have better camera than N8 . is not only MEGAPIXELS who make good photo .
This phone is complet like Camera , TV , Computer Radio and much much more .

SE wants to redeem it's name with this shiny new phone. however, people that has the original xperia flagship phones have been told that SE no longer support the phone after a 2.1 update.
who can tell that it wont happen with this model as well?
