besides that. the phone is such a nice handset to use. the exmore r and bravia tech smashes it for me. and the camera quality is spot on!!!!!!

Amazing phone with one of the best cameras about. 8mp with exmor r lens for shooting photos in low light conditions is fab!

So I've been using my Xperia Arc for about 7 months now - since then I have also used an Xperia Ray and Xperia PLAY, so I can quite safely say I know the Xperia range pretty well.
From the Bravia Reality displays and the Exmor-R sensors in the impressive 8.1MP camera to the first PlayStation Certified handset, Sony Ericsson have really delivered the goods in their 10th year.
The image quality is immense, the quality of the display is astounding and the PLAY? Well never have I found a phone so fun to use, without losing the smart phone experience.
So what does the future hold? Sony has recently bought out Ericsson’s share in the company, a move that has raised a lot of questions around where they go next. I think the move can only benefit a brand that has encountered its own trials in recent years and moving forward I think Sony will pick up from where Sony Ericsson left off. The rumoured, and supposedly leaked, Nozomi boasts some impressive specs, and although there are no confirmed details as yet – if the images are to believed the handset continues the sleek, sexy look that came with the Arc. One can assume it’d be packing ICS and hopefully more advancements to the hardware that currently graces my pocket.
I can only wait and see but I have to admit that, based on what I have seen this year from Sony Ericsson, I am excited to see what cards they bring to the table next year and will they hold the nuts?

The front usb ports are provided by the CPU cabinet while the ones on the rear are provided directly on the motherboard. So it seems the front USB ports are not grounded properly.

i also have experienced this issue of usb charging that affects the touch screen. my ARC phone is just two days old now nov 22, 2011. the issue is resolved through different usb ports. when connecting to my front usb desktop pc the problem occurs, but when i connect it to the back usb ports and also i tried it to my laptop the problem is gone. in majority i think the problem really comes from usb ports and not on the phone. very good phone of SonyEricsson. front camera only lacks in that matter.
also i can add about the usb connetivity of the phone's memory card, don't check the usb debugging mode if you want the memory card to be detected by the PC.

The railway carriages have AC supply which is converted from DC. Or maybe it may not be properly grounded. So, I think your problem is either with the charger you are using or the outlet you are plugging in to. If you are plugging into PC using data cable, make sure that the PC is connected to a well grounded wall outlet and see if there is any problem...

Don't buy this product!
I have bought it and regret it so much.
It has problem at the usb port whenever you connect the usb to a charger or a pc the touch screen will become annoying.
Each time you tap the screen it will tap everywhere in random rapidly!
I have communicate with the support team and follow their direction to update the system but still the problem not solve and they recommend me to go to the nearest supplier which is I know i just a parody.
So, I plan to sell this phone and change to HTC then tell my friends about my experience

don't buy this product!
i have bought and regret it.
it has glitch on the usb port.
whenever you connect to charger or pc the touch screen become useless because tapping anywhere each you touch the screen. its a fatal error

Suggest all who buy the phone get the firmware updated from the PC... I am using it for about 1 year now and it is the best phone I have used to date.
