dihan, 18 Nov 2011does xperia arc support nfc....plzz help everyone..umm.....technically,for folks like us,who r using xperia arc,nope....arc dosn't support nfc,arc dosn't have the hardware.but the japanese version of arc, xperia acro, has the nfc functionality.

Btw,why r u so interested about nfc?nfc is still in testing mode in most country, not massively used, proper use of nfc should take at least 1 year.i don't even bother!anyway,if u want a xperia with nfc,u have to wait for sometime, future xperia line will come with nfc,se already declared to use nxp for nfc functionality.

have been using the arc since may 2011 and have found it truly different to other smartphones on the market.

the camera is amazing! exmor r technology really does make a difference! i was at rihannas concert at the o2 on monday; had really good standing seats but still quite dark for my fellow standers to capture great pictures in low light conditions; i instantly showed them as they were interested; nothing but WOW was the reaction! i also caught her in high-def video! the let down was that its only 720p!

the screen is ssoo crisp; i was watching iplayer on it and every aspect of top gear was ssoo clear! the bravia engine does make a difference! the widget for screen brightness should have more than 2 settings!

then i connected it to my tv via the hdmi output and there is such a super connection; no issues with the picture or sound! plus i could control my phone to flick through the gallery with my tv remote!

i used the connected devices option too! i can wirelessly connect to my internet tv or media server ,like a playstation 3, and i could access all my phone content with no wires! another super feature.

usual android response; easy to use, lots of great apps that are cheap and cheerful and flash suppport for internet browsing! the new update from sony has provided screenshot capability, mcafee trial and wisepilot! so im safe to try the security, and its very good; scanning, backing up and phone tracking and emergency texting all built in! wisepilot is def better than standard google navigation!

iv used my phone as a modem as well! very simple to do, and you have internet on the go for a laptop or tablet! the phone has a data counter so im in control of how much i use; its real time as well, so no need to check with your provider; set alarms for your allowance so you know when you are close or have finished.

battery life from my experience over the months has been excellent! i managed to get 10hours straight talktime from a fully charged battery on several occasions, with some battery left over still! some smartphones cant even manage 7hrs.

the design is slick and thin; handset is very light.

what i would like to see is something with optical zoom on the camera, front facing camera, 1080p hd recording, massive built in memory say 16gb/32gb, more battery power, faster processor and dual core hardware, better loudspeaker.

i dont mind the handset being a little thicker and heavier for all the above!

in terms of what i think software can do: dr dre deats headphone support, auto cache cleaner setting, when screen is locked auto data disconnection feature and connects 5 times in an hour when on standby!

i love the little things like when the screen is locked it looks as if an old tv was switched off; how cool is that!.

overall its one of the best handsets this year (check its awards, theres ssoo many!), it is very well priced, so i can def say its a bargain everywhere! go get one of these or the updated version Arc S!

It's nice to hear from SE confirming that all their Xperia lineup for 2011 will be receiving Android OS 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Hopefully roll-out will start early of first quarter next year.

melski, 13 Nov 2011i really like sony ericsson product since i first had it in... moreI agree with you.
Quaity is awesome in SE, one of the best all round phones with no actual bad points. Camera is very good, screen is great, sound is awesome, good signals for wifi, gps, bluetooth and gsm/2G and good battery.
My K810i is still in great shape after 4 years of very heavy use (battery as new) and my bros T-610i still kicking ass after 7 years run.
So I can say the SE phones may not have the best specs.... but you will never get a crappy part on them.

Anonymous, 14 Nov 2011Would like to know how does the phone battery manage with a... moreIt does pretty well. I had a N97 before the Arc and it did had a bit more battery life but then again it had a smaller screen and slower cpu so it is normal it had better battery life with the same capacity. By the way, it was rubbish in all regards.
I manage 2, sometimes 3 days with some very reasonable use. Of course my old K810i has better battery time but it is not a smart phone.
SE phones always gave me good times, maybe less on standby than Nokias but awesome in talk time so I wouldn't say SE phones have poor reputation on that issue. It is more a complaint from non-SE users than a real issue.
By the way, also compared with the iPhone 4... mine averages double battery life. ;)
