I have this unit for a few hours only and the screen starts flickering. It will go from bright screen to yellow colored screen, and now I'm stuck with a yellow screen. I've tried changing the brightness to maximum however I'm still stuck with a yellow screen. I don't know whats wrong. I've checked online and was surprised that other users are also experiencing issues about flickering screen. Any suggestion on what to do with this?

[deleted post]i bought this phone last Saturday at a price of 13,900 at SM MegaExchange. The back part heats up, i think it because of the processor, i installed and sync fb and twitter to it and afterwards I had problem with opening the gallery (it didnt work for a while). I restarted the phone and nothing happened. I did restore factory. I lost all data. Goodthing I hadn't installed much apps yet. i love the phone but its crazy sometimes.

Now I have used this handset for more than 5 months, I have something to share:
Pros:
> The handset looks very pretty
> Bravia Engine and xLoud are really awesome features
> Camera is too good, gives awesome quality crisp n clear pics
> And all other pros people already know
> It has pretty good battery lifespan too
Cons:
> Handset is very slow
> Handset heats up like anything for below reasons:
* Use 3G data for some time
* Playing games like famous Temple Run even for 10-15 mins
* Especially found this after upgrading to ICS
> Internal Memory given for handset not adequate at all:
* 1 GB internal but only 320 MB usable
* Also only 512 MB of RAM
* Play some game or open apps like Facebook, browse etc.
* When we go back to Home screen, icons take too long to load
* Never felt I am using a 1.4 GHz procesor handset
* I guess this low memory is culprit for heating and slow handset. Usable internal memory and RAM for this handset should have been at least 1GB to cope up with 1.4GHz processor needs.
I admit, it is a really beautiful smartphone with nice curves, worth the money. But now I think I should have gone for Samsung Galaxy S2.

I advice to do a new device. Sony has a lot of photo digital cameras. If Sony take for example own Cyber-short cameras DSC-WX150/B and if built in GSM module, that is, if one-site of device is that camera and another is one of mobile phones, Sony will win.

I got the back cover for my set which is made by Xmart Company because back side protector is not available in my city that's why got the branded back cover which is really soft I hope it will stop the scratches.

You won't believe how tough these plastic sheets are, search for some youtube video, you'll see. I won't recommend any back-cover protector which isn't transparent, cause it'll block your phone's beauty from seeing it.

Kaymikz, 29 Jul 2012I just bought my arc s last week and I upgraded it to 4.4 i... moreNow just perform a factory reset, everything will be fast again. I upgraded to ICS, and found no problem. I rooted my ICS, uninstalled apps like office viewer (since I've Office pro), TimeScape, Mcafee, ANT+, and some other unnecessary apps (bloatware). In this way I freed up huge phone memory space. Then I installed Auto Cache cleaning app, and a Auto Task killer app. Now my ICS performs like a brand new out-of-the-box iPhone. It has fluid-like smoothness. Please always uninstall apps you don't like, you don't use or you don't need. I always try to keep my phone memory at least 90 to 100MB free.

saga, 30 Jul 2012is there any problems if we update this set to android 4.0As for me Having this Phone i find out that at sometime my phone has some lag issues and battery consumption increase by about 10% since ICS still run more apps in the background. But for the UI, it has improved a lot.
