Rooting is easy and safe enough, just don't delete files you are not sure if needed by phone since it will brick it. Having a rooted phone is akin to being able to run as administrator in your computer. I post the method I used to root my phone a couple of pages but there might be a newer method that will not entail a flash tool but anyway here it is:

Basically it means:
1. Upgrade to 4.0.4
2. By using flash tool, flash 4.0.3 kernel only
3. Turn on phone, connect via adb and run the "root exploit One click
4. Turn off phone and flash 4.0.4 kernel by flash tool

markjil, 05 Jul 2012sir, i did what you've said i deleted the unused partition ... morebtw, partitioning a part to more than 2GB is not recommended since it will be regarded as the extended part of your phone memory, thus will not be available for other storage use..and it might cause a lag

Can please anyone help me? Which is better to buy Sony Ericsson Arc S, Sony Ericsson Xperia neo V or Sony Ericsson Xperia ray. If there is any other cell except these it would be welcome but not apple or samsung or nokia.

Some words about after full 7.5 months of use..It is good if you do not have too many apps and widgets on it..Depends if you are a hard user or not...For users with higher expectations,it is NOT recommended, it is laggy and annoying sometimes,it heats up A LOT easier than any other phone i used especially when viewing youtube and playing games...and games is a big issue , especially after upgrading to ICS 4.0.4. Most of them crash for no reason , and it is not good for playing games with "heavy" graphics,as adreno 205, is way too old to handle those games!Overall, is a good phone for its price nowadays...And when u go to ics, you GOT to be rooted if you want to flash the oficial stock rom of GB 2.3.4.. No way doing it just by reseting factory defaults..If you are able to root your device, try cyanogenMod rom 7.1 which runs GREAT and you earn better battery life and speed..Suggestion: DO NOT upgrade to ICS even though it is good looking!

unchained_c7, 05 Jul 2012Since you want to re-partition your sd card again due to so... moresir, i did what you've said i deleted the unused partition but i cannot recover it like i wanted to make it again 8GB, cause what i did was i make it in half memory 4gb and 3.40Gb then only 4gb was available to use then the 3.40gb is cannot be read or not active. pls help me what should i do...pls thank you sir, i want my 8GB back again.
