It means that the phone has digital compass capabilities. You can go to android market and download a digital compass app, there's many to choose from. I am running Smart Compass Lite and it works like a dream!

The camera of Xperia Arc S is awesome with a built in 8MP camera, 3264×2448 pixels along with autofocus and LED flash. iPhone 4s cocoons a 8MP camera, 2592×1944 pixels which even though is less gives the user a detailed photo. Xperia Arc S’s camera includes 3D sweep panorama function and smile recognition other than the usual Touch focus present in both. iPhone 4s has a secondary camera for video calling but the Xperia Arc S doesn’t have one.

For me look... more@ cooldude......hi..... for your choice under 25k you can sure select arc s but no 2nd camera for v'call & 720p recording is nt enough in 25k. in compare of arc s you have nice opption of optimus 2x or google nexus......
but....my best suggetion for you is that just increas yor bugdet to 27k n get Galaxy 2 .
Galaxy s2 can handle any android upgrade til nw....thts the pls point....

Maybe we can say that honeycomb is gingerbread for large screen devices. While Ice Cream Sandwich is the upgrade version for both gingerbread and honeycomb.

To all SE Xperia Arc S owners...there was an issue with the Arc that cracks appeared around the proximity sensor. There r even videos in Youtube regarding this. So my Q is that whether anyone have noticed this similar problem with the new Arc S?

the handset is a spectacular handset with an amazing camera that has abilaty to take immense pictures in dim light with its 8.1 mp camera. its proccesor is an improved 1.4ghz which make internet surfing as fast as a flick of a screen. its is well socially intergrated with timescape all social network sites under 1 button

The Arc S has Gingerbread, so when Ice Cream Bread is updated to the phone, can the next one say Honeycomb be updated to the phone.

To all SE Xperia Arc S users...Many Xperia Arc users complained about cracks around the proximity sensor and there r even videos of it in Youtube...So my query is that Has anyone noticed cracks around the proximity sensor on the Arc S like the previous Arc?

What is the thing with internal memory, is there any problem with installing the apps, how many without removing the others?
What is the screen glass made of, i mean is it Gorilla glass and how durable is for scratches?
Can you wear it in pants or it will brake, you know how good it's build?
And finally the battery life 1, 2, 3 days? I know i know, ''if you are a heavy user'' blah blah blah
And can u use led light for flashlight from the box or you have to download an app from android market?
And one more tricky question.
If buying again would you choose this phone or SGS2?
I ask this because provider put almost the same prices between this two 100€ (the contract is for 2 years), so little help is need it.

The best ANDROID DEVICE i have used so far (* used 5 different types already)
It costs me 330 EURO (S.Asian Region Price). I must say that the investment is well paid off.
Even with a single core CPU it can perform as good as Galaxy S II (which is equipped with a Dual Core CPU)
Key Points:
1. Very Fast Device; Almost 0% response lag.
2. Battery runs well up to 8-10 hours under heavy use. ( 2hrs talk, 1hr HD video, 50 mins browsing, 45 mins game, rest includes Text msg, Reading books in Adobe Reader, social updates on wifi, Maps and Android market and a little bit of music)
*** On average use it lasts almost 36-48 hours.
3. Highly customizable home screen, u can add folders and put apps in it and keep it in the home screen for quick access) Enables more shortcut in home screen.
4. Very Good Audio Quality, Great Camera & 720p video recording is one of the best i have seen so far.
5. Even with a minimum screen brightness (0-5)% you can work quite well, i keep it 25-35% for me.
6. Runs HD games smoothly.
7. Please do not install Any Task Killer software, it basically creates pressure on CPU and also drains battery a lot.
** Those who are worried about battery, I can assure u that the battery performance will increase after 1-2 weeks use. The battery started to take heavy load easily for my device after 10-12 times of charging after 2 weeks.
** So if you are planning to purchase an Android device within 250-280 Euro, I would request you to increase the budget little bit more and invest 330 (Asian Region price) on this. You won't be disappointed.
