Not sure tho, but when I played a 720p recording file (mp4) I noticed using HW decoding was a bit smoother than by SW. I don't have a big size file of DivX movie therefore I couldn't say whether it will run this format by HW as smooth as playing mp4 format. But overall this one works better than rockplayer light and mobo - IMO.

I dont yet have a Xperia, but i tested it on my crap HTC that will be replaced by a Sony within a few days. Now on this HTC MX plays 720p files very nicely coz of hardware decoding, but how will it play on Sony fones, can it still use hardware decoding? What abt high resolution DivX or Xvid, how does MX player perform on Xperia phones using software decoding??

Most of you guys just come in here to chat trash. Believe you me, Sony will most definitely support all recent XPERIA Products when they buy over Ericsson's share. 2ndly the share purchase will help the growth of the smart phones without any compromise to other Sony's tech stuffs. So pls if you don't like SE or Sony as a whole, then what the hell are you doing here. Go over to your own preferred phone maker.

Im proud to be a Sony Ericsson Ambassador and I've been using the Arc S for about a week now. The phone is sensational! It's fast, ultra responsive, very intuitive and looks absolutely stunning! I didn't think anything would come between me & my iPhone but it's safe to say I've found a new love ;)

AnonD-13983, 03 Nov 2011ive had a few phones in my time...used the front facing cam... moreif sony ericsson puts a better camera to this phone they wud hurt the Sony Camera Division, so dont expect to much on Sony Corp. They just recycling they old phone and put a little touch and sell it again..

Whoever responsible for this so called pho... moreive had a few phones in my time...used the front facing camera on one of them about twice...in its 4 year life, i work in a telecommunications store selling mobiles, im yet to have one person come in and have as one of their requirements "a front facing camera" so, you're in the minority.

No front camera. Whoever responsible for this so called phone must be thrown out. I think i have much better common sense than the people at sony.
