the arc s is very capable, I went from the Sony Ericsson w890 and maybe I cannot say much comparing to other models, but in my experience it is wonderful phone in all terms. battery life is decent, screen is awesome, camera good, but user interface was better in gingerbread tho... 512 mb of ram is enough for playing most games, and apps are not laggy at all. The processor does a excellent job, I heard that some phones can be very laggy, but I for one didn't had much or that.
So, my conclusion is if you're considering on this phone because it doesn't have dual core processor,or that it has 512 mb of ram, just go ahead and buy this, in my opinion: for users who know how to use a smartphone, these are certainly not a problem.

SYH, 16 Nov 2012please help me should i update my Arc S ?? :S . i hv heard ... moreI wrote that there wont be any problem if u just factory reset before and after the update mine is working really great no problems at all just download the pc companion from sonymobile.com install it in your pc connect your phone with usb cable and it trust me you will love ics but please dont forget to factory reset before the update and after the update

very good device and riech veiw i love it but most problem it have very smale internal memory 320mb only and most applicatons need to be istalled on internal memory.
