Seriously, everyone looking for an android phone in 10-15K should go for the mini: most of you will probably be using the Corby, Star, N5800 or N5233, or maybe the 5310 XM or whatever: My point is that the screen size will not bother you. The 3.5 screen on my iPod is actually harder to hold and use than my Mini. This phone is fast and fluid, and at the same time looks very nice: All this at a price lower than the Ace, which I'm amazed sold so many units, given its terribly outdated innards (Its the same processor as the Galaxy Pop, or the Optimus one, only overclocked). Anyone looking to buy an android, this is the phone to start with.

I got mini day before yesterday and updated it last night. It works like a charm. You will only have an issue with the battery when you are using too much internet on it. If you dont use the internet and even play games for 2 hours, the battery will not even drop below 40% at the end of the day. Trust me, I am using it. And after the update, I think the battery performance has even increased a bit. I will be testing the battery with a Live wallpaper ON for the entire day and see how it works. Performance and Gaming is SuperFluid. No doubt about it. Thanks to Sid's advice. Otherwise even I was planning to buy the Ace. When I heard it from Sid and saw Ace, it was rubbish with regards to performance. Go for mini if you want to go for Ace....Cheers!!

AnonD-22160, 16 Sep 2011but xperia mini luks so bulky as it 16mm thick and besides ... moreThe 1200mah capacity battery of SE Mini is no less capable than 1350mah of Galaxy Ace.
This is due to the fact that CPU used in Ace is based on Older 65nm technology, whereas in SE Mini it is based on latest 45nm technology which is a lot more power efficient due to smaller size.
And when your CPU consumes less energy, it makes a lot of difference.
The screen of SE Mini should also consume less energy than ace's screen as it is smaller.
Ace is nowhere close to SE mini in Specs & Performance ,comparing the Price.
SE Mini is much much better.

AnonD-22160, 16 Sep 2011but xperia mini luks so bulky as it 16mm thick and besides ... moreOK. Let me clear the battery issue. I occasionally use internet, about 1 hr a day, about 30 mins of calls, couple of texts and I charge my phone every other night (when battery drops to about 15%). So, the battery is really not an issue. If you use the internet daily, for hours and hours, then having adobe flash on your phone is essential to get a computer-ish feel. So the Xperia wins there. The phone looks bulky in pictures and in specs, but in the hand, it is actually very tiny (smaller than the Corby). So the thickness won't bother you at all. Trust me, this was my main concern, but when I saw the dummy piece of the xperia mini pro, it really didn't feel bulky, or thick, or badly designed. It felt good, easy to hold, and it slipped into my pocket easily. When I saw the actual phone, I fell in love with it-It looks and feels that good: not bulky at all. Rather it appears very tiny, very petite, and it is much, much faster than the Ace. Apps run smooth as butter, menus scroll fast, and the screen is very good: probably 5 times better than the Ace screen, even though it is smaller. The Bravia display is actually better than their Bravia TVs! The battery is really not a problem: If you can afford an Xperia Mini, I'm pretty sure you live in an area with water and electricity, and if you have a plug point at home, just plug it in at night. The Ace is thinner, and looks very close to an iPhone: very close dimensions, but the Xperia feels better to hold, and to handle. If you wear very tight jeans, it might be a problem to put it in your pocket, but otherwise, it is not a problem. Also, just so you know, the Xperia has a 1 Ghz Snapdragon processor (this is a ARM v7 processor), with a Adreno 205 GPU, but the ace has a 800 MHz ARM v6 processor, which is less than 50% as powerful as the Mini. If you want to spend 13K on the Ace, which will not get an ICS update, and has a very weak processor, its your choice, but I would advise against it. Had it been priced at around 8.5-9K, it would have been a very good choice, but for 13K, the Ace is overpriced for what it offers.

AnonD-7586, 16 Sep 2011i think its the cause from new update 4.....70 may bThis might be a problem with the capacitive buttons. Please tell me how do you get this problem exactly. Did you use google maps (I have used it constantly for an hour and faced no such problem), or was it while surfing(did that for over an hour and a half, no heating, just massive battery drain), or did you play some graphic intensive game (I have played ninjump, fruit ninja, PvZ, and paper toss for 20-25 mins at a time and not faces this). If you could tell me what you did that caused the problem, then I could try that and see if its a hardware problem affacting all phones, or a software problem with the firmware (How do I check my firmware version?)

I am very much confused between xperia mini and xperia ray. Ray is definitely a good model and as mini is .
But the price difference does not justify it. Ray seems to be a bit costly model.
Do anybody have a good comment on it ????

OK, free games and apps are available all over the net, but I'm not sure which ones are safe to download, as many of these APK files (.apk is the file format you will be downloading to your computer.). You could also use torrents to download the apps and games. First, go to the Android market and download Astro File Manager on your Mini. Then, once you have downloaded the apk files onto your computer, transfer them to your phone's SD card. Then, open Astro on your phone, find the apk you transferred from your computer, install it, and voila! You have yourself a free game/app. Also, just keep a backup of the phone's contacts, messages, etc-just in case the file you downloaded contains malware. Also, move all your apps to SD card to save phone memory.

[deleted post]What do you mean vibrating to back button? I haven't played any graphic intensive games on this, but have used the internet for hours- The only time it ever got a little hot was after a 1 hour phone conversation. Are you saying that the phone automatically hits the back button? Because in my experience, my palm accidentally hits the back button, in between almost any application. That could be your problem, but I'm not exactly sure.
