AnonD-22160, 14 Sep 2011Samsung galaxy ACE or Xperia Mini??? m totaly cnfusd,,plz ... moreExcept for the smaller screen, the mini destroys the Ace in everything: better build, much much faster chipset, etc. Unless you want to just watch movies on your screen (for which the bigger screen is essential), get the mini. Best phone in its class, in its price, and its design makes it very stylish.

              I have few queries.

              1) Will I get HSDPA speed (on 3G Network) when I connect my laptop via USB, because their website states "Modem - GSM dialup internet". Does GSM mean I will only get GSM speed and not HSDPA?

              2) Will I get HSDPA speed when using as Wifi hotspot?

              3) Someone said abt some limitation abt using Google account when internet on phone is connected via wifi router. What is it exactly about?

              4) Further to pt 3) above is there any kind of "locking" of any feature?

              5) Can I use it as Digicam for reasonable print quality photos?

              Thanks in advance.

Hey Sid...I am getting the xperia mini tomm....So u support it completely right? I was confused between the mini and Ace and comparatively mini wins it all for me.....I saw lots of gameplay videos on youtube for mini and it seems the experience will be better for me than the Ace. Thanks for all your replies and posts for my questions. You are a champ brother...God Bless!!!

AnonD-22094, 14 Sep 2011Between this phone and a Nokia N8, what would you choose? If you want a feature phone, with the best features you can get, get the N8. Its basically a replacement for your camera, and has beautiful build quality. If you want a phone to play with, and have fun, and you want an android, the Mini is cheaper and faster, with a smaller screen which is just as good as the N8's amoled, but with a comparatively horrible camera. If you want to take photos 95% of the time, N8 is the one. If you are a casual user, Mini.

shadow, 14 Sep 2011NO task manager and file manager in the phone... ny suggestions?I think gingerbread doesn't need any task manager app, you can simply go to settings - applications - running services to stop some applications. For file manager, install Astro file manager from market.

[deleted post]1) The GPS locks very fast while using a data connection. Without it, I cannot get it to lock. When it locks using a data connection, my location is fairly accurate (within 500 M)

2)Inclining your skin to rotate? You can do that? What did professor X say when he heard of your mutation?;-D
Just kidding. Yes, the accelerometer works in racing games.

                                3) The edge/2g speed is pretty fast compared to what I have seen on many other phones. Sites open fast, especially if you have visited them before recently.

                                4) On a full charge, I suppose you can pull off 5 hours of music. Just to be sure I will test this and tell you.

AnonD-2956, 13 Sep 2011I have lg optimus one. CPU is 600 MHz ARM 11 processor, Ad... moreThe O1 was a good phone when it was released, which was about a year ago. But, it has software bugs, and substandard hardware. The mini is certainly much, much better than the O1. There is no lag in the menus, the UI is very fun to use, and there is no lag playing ninjump, P vs. Z, or angry birds. You can zoom webpages with little to no lag. Camera quality is not great, but it looks good on the screen, speaking of which, the Bravia Display is one of the best displays in this price range. The blacks are very deep, the colours are vivid, text is crystal clear. The sound is pretty loud in the xperia too, the battery life is certainly tolerable (unless you live disconnected from civilization and electricity). The internal memory is not a problem. Most apps install themselves on the SD, taking very little space in the phone memory. So you probably will never run out of it. Also, this phone is sure to garner some looks, simply out of curiosity and astonishment. This phone is tiny, but runs faster than light. It is a good upgrade from the O1, but not by a great amount, considering both are androids. But if you are bored with the O1, you will certainly enjoy this. I'm afraid I have never even heard of Sony's HD series of headphones. You probably confused them with the MDR-XB series and such. Still Sennheiser beats Sony, Klipsch, Audio Technica in the same price range, and have good support in India.

Hope this cleared all your doubts.

For those of you that have got Need For Speed Shift working on this device, can you tell me how you did it ? I got it to work the first couple of times, but now for some reason, everytime it hits the ea logo, the game just force closes on me.
