This is an excellent mobile. One of my friend bought this one last week. Screen Quality, speed, features, Touch, Camera are so good. We installed apps and games to check the speed and usability, it was good. Only thing that bothers is screen size, if it is little bigger, this must be a great mobile, no doubt in it.
Though it is worth for 15K...

AnonD-19264, 29 Aug 2011hey there. finally my xperia mini pro is fine no noise prob... moreWe are all happy that you're happy, but it'd be more helpful, if you shared the details, how you did it!
      Repairment? A replacement?
What's the phones manifacturing number (sth like 11WXX, where XX=2-digit number) and SI-number that can be found under the battery?
      Thanks!

I tried to buy the mobile in Chennai and went to couple of stores Univercell & Poorvika and got answer as Out of stock. And I tried online also got the same answer. I just want to whats happening or Is there any other way to buy the While one.

Also the retailers telling me that in India only Black XMP is available not the White one which I prefer.

Likvit, 28 Aug 2011Looks like xperia mini pro and xperia mini aren't identical... moreThere's no difference between QSD8255 and MSM8255. Yes, Qualcomm announced this chipset as MSM8255, however other companies who use it on their devices sometimes dubbed it QSD8255 as this chipset is come from Qualcomm SnapDragon family System on Chips (SoC). The most important to know to identify the chipet is the number: 8x55 is the 2nd generation Qualcomm Snapdragon family chipsets with 1 GHz cpu integrated with Adreno 205 GPU. All of them (8x55).

Likvit, 28 Aug 2011Looks like xperia mini pro and xperia mini aren't identical... moreI couldn't find any evidence, that the two processors (chipsets) are different... QSD was an earlier name-type of MSM by Qualcomm, look at the predecessor: http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=cpu&id=a8255&c=qualcomm_snapdragon_qsd8255 - the number is the same here! I searched for this, when I tried to decide which one of the two... first i thought, they're different, later i've found out that there was this name change, and maybe the specs that have spread were given like this, and it remained.
What is different, is their internal structure: the placement of the jack, USB, and consequently their position related to the microphones.

They have the same EP500 battery.

AnonD-19593, 28 Aug 2011Interest and logical finding... a thought: then why isn't... moreLooks like xperia mini pro and xperia mini aren't identical hardware. xperia mini has 1ghz QSD8255 Snapdragon and xperia mini pro has 1ghz MSM8255 Snapdragon. So xperia mini pro has newer generation snapdragon prosessor and should drain less battery but is more powerful at the same time. Just checked both phones specs here at gsmarena.

I don't kno if this has anything to do with noise problem, because xperia mini don't have this. Do you know if these phones use same model of battery?

On another forum I speculated on this, so it's not obvious - it'd be too nice from SE:):
"there could still be at least two different explanation for this:
                                    1. either SE initiated the process, starting to gradually replace faulty phones, or
                                    2. the dealer, facing considerable amount of replacements.
I'd bet for the second option at the moment, which is also a good turn of events, if many like this happens there'll be sure a solution, though the first would be the best." However tech support's reaction raises some doubt on the 2nd option...
That's why we need a clear, honest answer! The dealer has got lower interests in sweeping truth under the carpet, that's why your news are very important! :)

Like mine's xloud is working like it should and calling quality is noise free. Only taking videos there is just a little noise.

Then that my first phone had very loud noise on videos and when calling that same noise was almost as bad there, well it was there all the time screen was on...

I think a company like SE should have same quality in all phones, this type of problems have occured on some cheap chinese phones, but not on premium manufacturers like SE.

I've to admit that you could help ... moreGiven up in the way that I just cannot risk waiting for a solution that may/may not happen. I have just contacted tech support at phones4u and explained to them what the sales person told me in the shop.
Tech support, needless to say, had no clue as to what I just told him. He also said he was not aware of any issues regarding the mini pro's.
It's obvious that S.E. have wind of the issue otherwise why would the sales person at phones4u tell me they have been sent back ???
I'm far from giving up on the rest of the mini pro owners and will email phones4u as to why I wa told about the quarranteen.
                                        Will post back...
