i was thinking of getting this one since it is a midrange priced phone for gaming. now, knowing that it wont get ICS. im thinking of getting htc instead...

Sony broke their promise, lied and deceived their customers, selling a high-priced flagship as a phone with a future, guaranteeing, promising and assuring repeatedly this phone would get ICS.
Months after, it simply abandoned the phone, no ICS, no Gingerbread upgrades, not even a kernel or a GPU drivers' update.
As this shameful, despicable attitude went by without legal any punishment, other brands feel free to also betray their customers and follow sony's immoral (and illegal???) attitude.
The only way to stop this tide of lies is to boycott these deceitful companies and stop buying their products.
Sony's shameful attitude must not go unpunished.
To stop buying sony phones(or htc's, which have done the same) is easy, as there are plenty of other brands to choose from.
Just try to avoid another sony phone and tell you friends and relatives why.
Let them know what sony what they did.
How they behave after getting their customers' money.
Mouth-to-ear is also a method of education for customers worldwide.

Since Sony Xperia Play is not getting official ICS any ICS baed ROm which is stable would add to the functionality. here's one reliable ROM from CM, CM9 RC1: http://www.androidust.com/cm9-rc1-for-xperia-active-and-xperia-play/

Very disappointed with Sony.
We were completely let down as they've stpped all support for this - not so long ago - flagship model.
Abandoning customers after failing to keep their promises deserves the ill reputation sony's getting.
This phone is everywhere on second hand cheap sales as owners are trying to keep uptaded by buying some other brand.
If sony's abandoned their promises and neglected their customers, it is definitely time for customers, as myself, to look elsewhere.
Due to my experience, I cannot recommend any Sony phone, as the brand is NOT trustworthy.
Sony? Keep away from them.

Hi All! I Want to Buy it buy I want to know more. Can it Play Fruit Ninja? Can it play game touch screen such as Fishing Diary... When we slide off on game can we sill use touch screen? When i watch clips on youtube all gaming are use the side slice I just hope that it can also use touch to play. Kind Regard

Hi guys! Kindly solve for X. When receiving sms/text messages my phone only notifies me with a ring/vibration, it doesn't flash/light-up on the screen when receiving, is it only me with this problem?

so whats so great about the ICS?that you are so disappointed and so angry on Sony?Don't you say that because it won't not support future games that on the ICS???im planning to buy this phone cause it has a mid-ranged price and great for "GAMING",so will it support future games???and it says that the Amazing Spiderman is not compatible with the PLAY,is this the start of"NOT HAVING ICS IN PLAY" or GAMELOFT is just optimizing the game for the play????I'm 15 and i can only afford phone at this price,do you have any great phone(gaming) at this price you will suggest?
