Cant believe people are moanin about 3g video calls, if you want them so bad get an app, your all just bone idle, the weight and low memory is the only downside to the play overall a freakin awesome phone I wouldnt upgrade because you get these phones with all the power and no where to use it so really dont see the point

If you want a light, slim phone, you must be really dumb if you buy an Xplay!
If you want a true gamepad, then you'll have to sacrifice and read the phone's specifications.
It's not the world's best phone, it should have a larger internal memory, it almost literally forces you to root in order to get some games and apps into the sd card... well, it's far from being flawless...
But, at the end of the day, it's the only phone that allows you to hang up your calls, turn off your gps and slide your pad to start playing without having your fingers all over the screen, providing you a true "console-like" gaming experience.
That's the ghole point of buying an XPlay in a market filled with a multitude of different brands and models to choose from.

Simply love the fact that others envy the fact that their big thumbs cover the screen when playing. Wish they'll have XPlay 2 with Super AMOLED screen, better GPU and better CPU.

Give 5 out of ten for play controls. the size and weight is so awful it pulls your trousers down got rid and got Xperia arc s much better phone overall I'd give 4 out of ten don't recommend

hey guys, i have had the xperia play for about 3 months now and i love it, the graphics are great the games are great. its a great phone regardless of wether your going to use the psp controls, 9/10 only downside is that it is a tad heavier than most phones and a bit chunky

well i updated my play to 4.0.3
feels more speed than GB
slow on ICS coz too many apps running at background.
use an auto task killer.
anyway i love my play,n looking 4ward to its successor(xperia play II??)

i just install fpse on my play.. for now just got tekken3 only.. hehe..
also download bios..
i can play the game smoothly and perfect but cant save or load..
already select bios and when back to game it say "bios not set"
restart and uninstall also dont work..
someone help pleasee..

I realized something about the Play after reading this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19676369&postcount=27
Sony isn't really gonna do much in terms of updates for the play. And the reason is simple. It's such an awesome phone that if they gave it all the latest updates, no one would want/need to upgrade to a newer phone and give sony $$$.
All we can hope is that since this is all software, some community modders/developers will port all this stuff to the play. sony for sure are not going to.

That is why the Samsung have both FM Radio and Video Calling and is a record seller whilst the xperia keep selling so very little.
People know what they want and that is refleted on sales figures.
Better phones end up selling more and being more successful.
Android phones with 3G video calls and FM Radio have prove that beyond any reasonable doubt.

And the same applies to the lack of native 3g video calls.
That is why some phones are much more successful than others.
If Sony is commited to providing good quality products and fully understands their customers' feedback, it's about time Sony's managers start noticing what their costumers wish and complain about and try not to lose an even larger market share.
