just tried it at the local shop...
my first impression was a bit excited, with this smartphone, you can play PS1 and bunch of old epic title through emulator for android.
but then, I feel like overestimated this unit. There's only 2 shoulder buttons (L + R), where most of PS1 games utilizing 4 buttons, some of em was use all 6 extra button (L1,L2,L3 - R1,R2,R3). It makes impossible to play Ace Combat 3 with full console experience.
the super thin form factor made my finger stiff when I play it for 15 minutes (I am a gamer with more than 3hr/day on Playstation/PSP)... well, it might be just me didn't adapt to the device yet, but..compared to the grip of PS Gamepad, PSP, or even N-Gage, XPlay felt like unergonomic for a game device.
the internal hardware which feel outdated compared to the other new android device, made me think if sometimes this unit will wear off to play the new android games for the higher specs...

To all the people who think etc blah blah is better, think about it, the only competitor to this phone was the original nokia n-gage, and this abviously slaughters it.
As far as the phone side of this device goes, it does everything you want and more, no issues what so ever, battery life is fine, goes 2-3 days.
People moaning about the battery life, your obviously playing with it too much, or got your data turned on 24/7, things like that, this is not a HAND HELD GAMES CONSOLDE REMEMBER!!
It is not expected to have an insane 10+ hours gaming battery life like a psp for example, its a phone, your running a full power PLAYSTATION through a tiny battery what do you expect when playing games for hours(dont forget playstations ran off of the MAINS).
The gaming side, perfect accept its missing secondary shoulder buttons which makes some games annoying if youve downloaded roms. (the official ps1 releases for download are only games which had the need for 1 shoulder button). This phone does not lag with any ps1 game ive tested so far.
It also runs n64 nes snes sega megadrive etc, so your not just limited to ps1 games, just need to find the roms and emulators for them.
Styling imo is brilliant, nice smart looking sleak phone, not -too- bulky, but again remember, you have a ps1 inside this thing, thats why its bit thicker than most.
It is durable and touch, ive dropped it several times and not had any problems with it atall(bare in mind i still dont own a case for it), screen quality is fine, good viewing angles and when watching movies it has great quality playback.
Yes it does not have HD, but you got this phone for the games didnt you? not the camera.
Only flaw is you can not move the built in games onto the sd card so they take up a bit of your memory, but if you dont want them, go into your files and remove them to save space.

Dreadful screen.
Experia's Arc much better.
Low quality buttons/keys.
Playing games becomes awkward and difficult.
It's neither a good hand console, nor a good phone.
Too bad. It is a good idea, let down by stingy, second-grade quality materials.
This is what happens when you put economy in front of quality!
