it is thick because it is cell phone + has gaming buttons.psp alone costs more than 10000 inr. so this phone+ psp will be of around 35000 only. take ex of nokia n8. it costs 22000+ but u can get a an excellent camera in that range so its foolishness to buy n8. it is for those who want gaming on the go and don't want to carry xtra gaming covsole

Two things missing on this phoe. 1. Not dual core. 2. Not 4G. Otherwise this coild be the next iPhone 5 killer but it miss those two important things.

That price tag is quite steep....Although here in South Africa we're quite used to being ripped off. The retail price at launch here will be the Equivalent of $1 200...Guaranteed and the average person in SA earns 4x less than their counterparts in the US. So We're looking at paing at least 5x more then other countries. Proudly South African!

innovative.! android + scei... thanks sony ericsson... surely, it will be one of the best gadget. it is not yet released by this time guys.. don't under estimate sony.. don't compare sony with apple, samsung and among others.!

If this phone launches in India with the price converted from $900, then its practically gonna be of no use since I'm doubtful anyone would buy it. Besides, I'm not sure that there are too many gaming freaks in India to give this a go.
On the positive side, if it does launch for, say around INR 10000 - INR 15000 less than the above price of about INR 45000 [$1 = INR 45 (approx.)] then it could be a good enough buy. I mean if the Galaxy S can sell for INR 30000, then so should this.
As for the specs, I believe the reason they chose not to include the dual core is maybe because this would then become a big threat to Sony's own NGP set to replace the PSP in the handheld gaming market. So, they sort of split it all into two devices - a phone and a console. My doubt is whether or not this would be able to play PlayStation games ??? Considering that it runs on an Android OS I'm doubtful it will support PlayStation games but I'm not too sure.
And yeah, the device does look slick (or sleek whatever that word is) !!!

i hope to see this phone in our nearest SE shop im waiting for this to see if its worth it coz if not i would rather buy a SONY psp and a SONY Ericsson mobile seperately hahahahah such an addict on SONY TECH hahahahah

My biggest disappointment with this spec is the lack of sony playstation 3 remoteplay. Its frustrating to know Im better off with my psp. If sony really wants to penetrate the market with this, they need to push this to aim atthose willing to get rid of their psp and get one of these instead, and to be frank looking at the specs, theres nothing here which makes me personally want to buy it. If a psp has more features than this people wont buy it.

wat a foolish launching.i think still sony ericsson india team is considering indians as fools.price is dat much high n even cant provide at least xvid/divx support,no internal memory,poor RAM,16mm thickness(may b can use in villages 4 escape 4m dogs).i was a real fan of sony ericsson..bt nw iam rly despirated.i think they can cme bck strongly soon..lets hope 4 d best...

Nice concept but this phone is such a failure.
1. No internal storage, max you will get is 32gb sd card, which is fail for multimedia_gaming device.
2. 380mb of ram ? Lol seriously . Its 1GB or get out.
3. And lastly how long will you play on a pathetic 1500mah battery.
The only thing it has going for it is gamepad.

Or some fool is doing the marketing in India for it. 34k for this set which has no FM, no HD video recording, no good internal memory just 5M camera which is a basic congif in multimedia phones these days and poor LED light(should have been dual LED flash instead for a 34k tag)....This is a killing... Sony is sure gonna loose big market share to Samsung's Galaxy S2 and other good phones untill and unless it shows some prudent moves... I was a big fan of Sony for the past 7 years.. I had owned K750i and G900i and was waiting for Xperia Play but now i'll have to eye for other multimedia phones...What a waste!!!
