Since I am a scientist, I travel a lot and I use to attend seminars and conferences. Normally I would take my laptop to do some work or check emails if there is one or two talks I am not interested in. Since I bought this phone, however, I do not carry my laptop any more: it is enough with my phone! Even to reply long emails, its keyboard make it easy! Same for travelling, I can watch movies while I am waiting for my flight or train.
Sony-Ericsson has made an incredible work with this phone.

I just saw this phone in person and it looks great. I live in Bolivia and it costs about 350$us/400$us (new/unlocked)
and they showed me the XPERIA MINIPRO HD, which is a great cheaper option, it has a more spaced keyboard than the regular minipro and it comes all black, looks bad-ass. Couldn't find any info about it on this site. worth checking out...

btw, the only complaints I... moreyou will get used to the lock button - it is quite good.
The camera button OTOH is too small and awkward as the slider mechanism interferes with it. Not a problem though, as I usually use touch-focus with the camera anyway.

btw, the only complaints I have after 2 days of usage are:
- the lock button and the camera shutter that are useless, way to tiny and difficult to press
- the usb port when the cable is plugged makes the qwerty keyboard difficult to use.
Other than that, i love it:)

The scientific measurements on screen and loudspeaker are better on Pro than Neo. Also look at photo compare tool - photos are at least as good as Arc on the Pro, wheras on Neo not quite as good. The Neo has now also been discontinued and only Neo V available with not as good 5MP camera.

im planning to buy a SE Xperia and i want... more1- no video calling via 3g , use third party apps like skype .
2- it is an anti scratch screen , and if your still worried (although it would be paranoid in this case)the phone comes with a screen protector .
3- when it comes to sound quality , SE is the best , i was amazed by how pure and strong the sound is in this phone .
4- picture & video quality are also great , the strong screen brightness also helps improving the quality along side with Bravia engine .
5- camera features features is amazing , i was amazed when i saw the very easy use interface and it also have a very low shutter lag time , although when ice cream sandwich update hits the pro , there will be no shutter lag , also there are many awesome features like panorama mode , and there are the normal standard features of nowadays like image stabilization , face detection , touch focus etc.
6- the video cam should be able to cover all the basics , the video quality is amazing and scene mode is helpful .
two things you should note though : some people say that the camera flash is weak , although i find it pretty strong my self , the other is the camera placement is kinda annoying when you first use it (although you will get used to it quickly)and the shutter key is small (along side with the volume rockers and the lock button)but you'll get used to it
.
7- the memory card is up to 32 GB , and it comes with an 8 GB memory pre-installed .
8- the over all performance of the phone is amazing , its blazingly fast , and had almost no lags with me (except when you really push the phone to the limit as in streaming videos for 6-7 hours then playing some games etc.)
as for which phone is the best ,i think the ray is just too small with only 3.3 inches diagonal display , so buy it if your into small phones . aside from thet the Neo (not the neo V) and the pro are the same , the only difference between them that the neo doesn't have the annoying camera placement like the pro (camera is exactly on the middle while in the pro its on the top left) neither the small buttons . but on the pro's side you will get the best four-rows slide out keyboard in the market lately .
so if your your only into xperia phone :
if you love small phones , get the ray.
if you want an outstanding keyboard , get the pro.
if you do not care about the keyboard and don't like small phones , go for the neo.
although you might also consider the xperia arc and xperia arc S if your interested in a bigger screen .
Also from your questions i noticed that you care about the camera very much , so you might want to check these alternatives :
if you are into still camera phones get the Nokia n8 : with a whooping 12 mp camera and the biggest camera sensor ever found in a phone you should be able to capture amazing pictures , one problem though that it's Symbian OS phone which is still catching up with android (although the Symbian belle update will make it more user friendly) .
if you want Android OS and into video recording get the Samsung galaxy S II (although its very pricey) : with a couple of cores and gig of ram powering this beast , it should be able to handle all of your applications and capture amazing 1080P video flawlessly .

best phone by SONY till date.....bigger yet compact in terms of usage....i have got it last week & feels awsm to use..
BEST PART: QWERTY keypad( BOON for message & chatting addicts), PROCESSOR,ABOVE ALL BRAND OF SONY.
P.S: if u dnt mssg much, instead buy XPERIA NEO V, due to cost effectiveness.

maybe they stop the production of this phone because the separation of sony & ericsson

This is Android standard (normal) when in the home button (home screen.

i have also ordered xperia pro from deals & you via COD ,from and its been more than 20 working days i didnt got the phone.From the first day itself i knew they cant deliver this phone @ 14000.

my phone didnt rotate its screen whether to left or right when i click to the home button. but if i slide my keypad, then the screen only rotate to the left. ive tick the auto rotate screen from the setting already, then the screen is still the same :( but if i open the setting or anyh software, if i rotate my phone to the left, then the screen rotate to the left if i rotate my phone to the right, it will rotate to the right. only when i click at home, the screen wont rotate to left nor right.
