AnonD-5041, 13 Nov 2011No argument, S2 sits on a class of its own, given the price... moreXperia Pro is better than GSII for text input. You can quote all the specs you like, but when something so fundamental such as text manipulation is inferior on GSII, then Xperia Pro is better all round package for a better price.

With the Xperia Pro getting the ICS upgrade, then we'll get an extra performance boost, with a second core (I.e. The GPU) coming into play to make the UI even smoother. Sort of shows how pointless dual-core application processors are.

Bought this phone 2 weeks ago, the first functional model available in the region and I become it's proud owner.
Now emphasizing on the word 'proud' and describing why, I'll offer you a brief vista on the pros and cons(very trivial) of this phone

As you've heard on a diurnal basis about android phones, this one is no goner. It consumes as much juice as the others when you run the browser, but otherwise its an absolutely great worker.

The camera is exceptionally good. Best of its class(not considering the iPhone 4S), to be precise. The color reproduction and distribution is delightful. Clarity in night mode is not so appreciable, but accommodating.

As a platform to run applications, its a decent smartphone. For people who prefer slide-out Qwerty keypads, there can't be better. The keys are made of synthesized rubber, feeling great to the finger. Unlike Motorola smartphones where there is no availability of an on-screen conventional key arrangement, this one comes factory fed with one.

The in-built music player is pretty impressive with various presets and the sound entirely dependent on the quality of earphones, this one is commendable on the ear-phones that accompany the box. On-speakers, with the Xperia's indigenous X-Loud its a wonderful hear.

The plastic finish of the body is a bummer. Non-oleophobic and simple. But, altogether, the aesthetics and ergonomics of this phone have each other in equilibrium.

As a final say, if anyone has been looking for a great smartphone with slide-out Qwerty and not so compelling budget, look no further.

I have Xperia PRO two week. My previous mobile phone was Nokia N70. I'm still learn about how to use mobilephone.

Xperia Pro is fast, but something missing.
No preinstal SMS software or original software on phone. You can not organize your message, folder, copy, move. I not see , maybe is somewhere.

Still cannot to delete some on screen function what i not use, like twitter, facebook, some security application...ect. I need time to learn.

Manual for this phone is little poor. Missing some
real explanation. I dont know, if i have wifi (free) active, would my internet browser use it automaticly or use 3g mobility (paid) connection.
I have both icon on mobilescreen active (wifi & H).

I miss that base software, what Nokia N70 have.

Touchscreen is fast ... if you have small finger, then is ideal :) . Whit my big finger i must to learn to hit what i need :D :))))))

Battery life is poor. Screen use most of power from battery and some background application. I test with 2x battery software (free) from market android, and he prolong the time of use. But if you use more game, or internet, or music without headspeaker, you would buy reserve battery, or recharge more time in day.

BUT MOST IMPORT ... I need more time to learn of this mobile phone. I found all software on market what i need to resolve problems or my needs of phone.

Generally I'm satisfacted with Xperia PRO

Vasp, 14 Nov 2011320 euros is not cheapif you keep the phone for a year its less than a Euro a day. The Desire Z did cost me a lot more when i bought it a month after its launch.

Anyway i like the "cheap" plastic of Xperia pro, it seems solid, and the materials used make it compact and lightweight. The Desire Z is bulkier and a lot heavier because of the expensive materials used. And is Desire Z more solid? I doubt it, its so heavy that if dropped its own weight will crush it.
