[deleted post]but its true the compass is bad, he has some valid arguments. I like my Xperia Pro more than my Desire Z, but Xperia Pro is far rom perfect, its a cheap fone and it shows.

For the compass: Its better if you slide out the keyboard, it will be sometimes correct then. With keyboard closed it can be up to 180 degrees wrong, depending on how you turn the fone, and i NEVER found it to show the correct direction with keybaord cklosexd unless i used another compass and turnd the xperia pro untill the needle would randomly point the right way. So its real bad, we should use the warranty to get it fixed, i am considering it but i doubt they have a fix yet.

AnonD-252, 13 Nov 2011The internal memory is too small and because it is not easy... moreAh, someone trying to justify spending double on something that is inferior. IMO the hardware keyboard and more compact and pocketable size of the pro makes it a superior package to even the over-hyped GSII.

I like the 3.5 mm on the side - it is the best position for playing emu games with the keyboard without interfering with your fingers, and better than on the top. The screen seems pretty scratch-resistant to me. SE have been reliable with software updates, and SE has had ICS-like features in their software for a while. I doubt you have even used the pro in person because when you have the black version in hand it looks great, and certainly more stylish than the boring rectangular slab of the GSII. The compass also is fine.

The build quality of the pro is great, especially slider. Agreed, I think they could have done a better job on the back cover which can creak, but then again the GSII isn't exactly better. Your problem is that you are also comparing a crappy touch-screen keyboard with the equally crappy hardware keyboard on the HTC Desire Z.

AnonD-252, 13 Nov 2011The internal memory is too small and because it is not easy... moreNo argument, S2 sits on a class of its own, given the price range. If you want a better phone, you pay more, end of discussion. We're comparing Xperia Pro on its similar price range.

AnonD-22442, 13 Nov 2011on what basis are you saying that xperia pro has problems..... moreThe internal memory is too small and because it is not easy to root this can not be easily fixed. The "scratch-resistant" screen is not really scratch-resistant at all, and the glossy fingerprintmagnet plastic is really ugly, and the compass is bad, and the user-interface is really annoying, and the 3 5 mm on the side is bad design, and the "build-quality" feels like a cheap toy..., are a few of the problems with Pro, but the reason for me not to buy Pro is because I now write faster on my onscreen keyboard on my S2 than I ever did with my Desire Z and I think any touch-screen phone with a screen larger than 4 inches is a better choice if you want to write long emails or edit documents... fast and without errors!

The screen is also amazing - the best I personally have seen.

AnonD-5041, 12 Nov 2011Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro (SE Iyokan) MK16i has already been... moreit must be compared only to other qwerty android fones. i have both HTC Desire Z and Xperia Pro, Xperia has the much much better camera, less/no UI lag, higher stability, better keyboard, and a ton less software bugs. for example wifi hotspot, it works so delightful on the xperia pro, while it barely works at all on the HTC. Same with USB tethering. These are all very weak spots of Desire Z (and desire series in general), while the Xperia series excel in these areas.

Advantage of the HTC Desire Z: Better screen (SLCD) has better colors and much better viewing angles, and much less backlight bleeding. The Z-hinge is good but the slider of xperia pro isnt bad either. Battery is possibly slightly better on HTC, maybe, im not yet sure of this. Edit: Digital compass is bad on the xperia pro while Desire Z has one of the best there is.

All in all, HTC Desire Z is a very bad phone, stay clear! i can recommend xperia pro but beware of the display viewing angles, the display is not impressive if put beside an Optimus 2X (IPS panel) or any HTC Desire series with SLCD.

May be it wud hav been better if its more than 4.0 inch... or as in Arc 4.2 inches...

Nowadays d phone size is becoming bigger... nd it looks gr8 to watch a video or play a game with more than 4.2inches...

Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro (SE Iyokan) MK16i has already been released for quite some time now, some countries even for as long as three (3) full months ago. So what will it take for you to make a decent review and comparison about it? We'd like to know how the screen legibility fares in direct sunlight compared to Samsung Galaxy SL I9103SL/ Galaxy Ace (Cooper) GT-S5830 / HTC Desire / S / HD.
