I love the Sony Ericsson Ray. Its so slim/lightweight and doesn't lose the funtionally that can be found in Larger un-named Smartphones :o) I love the camera on it (8mp + HD) and the screen makes my photos look even better. I would definitely recommend this handset to anyone but for someone with larger fingers i'd maybe suggest an Arc which has all the same features but with a larger screen :o). Cheryl

I have been using this handset for nearly 2 months and am really impressed with the overall quality and feature rich experience. Having used the Arc for a while now, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray shows how a great operating platform can deliver excellent results with a custom UI.
My favourite features of the Xperia Ray, are the 8MP camera which delivers an excellent HD video recording experience, with a superb low light camera capture.
In the slim and sleek body Sony Ericsson have managed to squeeze the best of their available tech at a great price.
I would recommend this handset to anyone who wants a feature rich experience for a great price.

Can anyone who has used the phone tell me how good the music playback is? The review says that it is average.

Plus I have been hearing that not all 3.5mm headsets are compatible with the phone. Is this problem just for headsets(with mic) or for normal headphones(just earphones) as well? I have a very nice pair of senheisser headphones that I want to use with this phone. Can anyone who has used the phone please help me.

I’ve owned a Ray for a few months now and I have to say it’s a great little handset. What Android handsets usually lack is compact design and usability but the Xperia Ray has this in spades. The impressive thing is there doesn’t appear to have been many compromises in the process as the handset has a 1GB internal memory, 1GHz scorpion processor, 8MP camera and running Android 2.3 (which will be upgradeable to ice scream sandwich). It also still has the mobile Bravia engine so has a crystal clear display. As it is compact in design it offers you a variety of keyboard choices including classic predictive text. There is also the full range of widgets and so on as you’d expect and continues the theme of not cutting corners. The camera shines out from this great little phone and offers 720p HD recording and a great quality shot even in low light with its xmor R sensor technology. I’ve enjoyed using the Ray and found it a nice change from all the large smart phones and it comes recommended.

One of the best handsets in years! At the lower end of the price scale this SE handset rivals the best! The camera is at 8mp deceiving, it blows the rest out the water so to speak, thanks in part to the sony eXmor R software. And with its 1gb processor it is very quick in comparison to anything in its price range! Last thing I'll mention that I personally have been mega impressed with is the Bravia technology when you view videos, give a crystal clear performance

this handset is fanatastic, great 8.1 camera used in many situations and still gives great pictures with the amazing Exmor R camera lens, although the screen size is 3.3 i tend to use the phone in landscape mode generally anyway no matter what size the phne just easier to type with your thumbs traditional t9 keyboards, the power of 1ghz processor battery last far longer than on my arc and like all SE xperia 2011 range will taste the delight of ice cream next year around march too small but mighty Xperia Ray

look no further than this handset if wanting a phone within a budget
