Many have that kind of practice Jon. I'm just wondering if the same goes with the new Li-ion batteries. Cuz this initial charge was critical for Nickel-cad batts.
And best choice man. I hate bulky phones. The smaller, the better.

this device DOES NOT have 512 mb of ram memory, it has only 335... i discovered it with an app

This is the first SE-phone that I really like, but I have read a review that complain about bad screen-sensitivity and the hardware-button feels a little loose and having a bit too sharp top edge, and the screen is maybe a little too small if you want to write long sms and e-mails comfortably.

Surprised that the voting dorpped so much in one day, and suddenly went back up so fast! ... is this a joke?
Since I'm in Japan now, I had a chance to visit a phone service provider (close to my hotel). This provider is "AU". I went in & asked for SE Ray, the sales girl told me that they only carry the Ace, if I want the Xperia Ray, Docomo is the carrier. I notice that there is a Black, a Pink and a White on display. I picked up the Black & the white one & check them out, what I notice was that the White one is actually Pearl White, and the Black colour one has got soft feel plastic back cover compare to the Pearl White Arc. I think that the White one is very nice looking.
I asked the sales girl about the price, ans to my surprise, the price of the phone cost Yen 68,500; which is approx. Euro 650. That's very expensive - mobile phones are expensive in Japan nowadays because of the expensive Yen. Those SE Arc selling in Japan are all "Made In Japan" though.

This handset does not actually have a LED flash for the camera. It only actually has a photo light. If this was a LED flash it would be an even more impressive handset.

When we first buy d phone, u will found that d bttry is fill up but just a half or less,each phone n brand will be like this. Dont worry about 8 hours charge will damage u'r phone or bttry,every newest phone(from 6 or 5 years ago)has a connector 2 cut down the charging system when d bttry is full. Nothing 2 worry about. I had 6 phone in 5 years till now,i do 8 hours charge 2 all of them, nokia 2,se 2,samsung 1 n mtrola 1.
They all work fine until i sold them because i need money 2 another goodies,not because damage. Ok thats all, it just my opinion n my experience. All up 2 u,thats u'rs n this mine

Daryl, 13 Sep 2011What 8-hour charging are you saying??? are you nuts? you're... moreCharging the phone for 8 hours or more wont make any damage to the phone, the question is, whether the battery needs this over nite initial charging or not. If you're using an original battery pack, no need to worry if u leave ur phone connect to power source. When the battery is fully charged, it will stop charging and start to discharge. After a certain time, it starts to charge again. The battery wont be get over charged as u might find this happened with a non original battery.

Guys wat abt the internal memory its got only 300mb while other equivalent samsung mobile has abt 1gb internal memory... wat should i do ???

Batterys in general nowadays do not require full charge/drain, rinse & repeat, however most manufacturers advise full charge and drain & repeat on first few cycles. I myself didnt need 8hrs charge from out the box, it required about 2 hrs maximum. Battery performance has been exceptional so far in past 5 days, only requiring a charge twice (includes 1st initial charge) and still have 68% battery remaining, this is light usage however and i deactivated bluetooth, auto data downloads and the wifi useage is 1 hr a day.
I bought mine from www.mobiles.co.uk, part of Carphone Warehouse Group, arrived next day in black with screen protector, extra earplugs and a 4 gig micro sd card. I got the phone for free on a 24 month Orange contract worth a mere £12.85 a month after the 9 month free redemption (£20.50 a month pre redemption). Very very happy with this model and glad i bought it :)

Haha,i always do a first time charge on my new mobile battery for 8hrs,its a personal practice.As for subsequent charge,once it is 100% i will disconnect it.The battery still lasts me or a good 2 1/2days,24hrs connecting to my bluetooth headset.I asked my friend from singapore to get it.He was skeptical in me getting the phone saying why i'm going backwards for the screen size ,it should be small to big instead from big to small.
