"it takes to use one to speak about one."
for those haters of the xperia, back off. youre prolly one of those "user-friendly" user phones. you dont even own an xperia in the first place.
xperia is a well rounded device that you actually tweak from every single bit. the purpose why sony ericsson sold their x1s at its minimal software applications because they know that people could do alot of tweaking from the moment its on its users hand. from tweaking its start up menus, to adding cool applications, mods, cooking and the like. whats more interesting is that you get to personalize it to the max via the panels.
so i suggest, buy the phone first, use it for a month, then talk about its efficiency after you have totally experienced every single thing that it can offer.
if youre satisfied, the better. but if not, then its really up to you on what to do. choosing a phone is subjective anyways. so keep it cool and watch what you say. ^^

A.T., 26 May 2009For those that have had their Xperia for a while, how often... moreI seldom use my stylus to be honest. The icons ARE very finger-unfriendly, but it's possible when you have a bit of patience ;)
I'm still very happy to be the owner of this great phone, only thing that's bad are the cracks that show up after a few months! =P

For those that have had their Xperia for a while, how often do you have to use the stylus? I want a finger-friendly phone and the icons on the touchscreen look extremely small and finger-unfriendly. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Dood, 24 May 2009I believe it depends on what you're using your phone for. I... moreCheck on http://geekedout.se/winmo.php#memcard. It has the best tweaks you can think of for the Xperia. I also complained about the volume for several months, but after installing one of the tweaks for xda, it now sounds really loud. Also, files in wav generally sound louder than mp3. I converted my mp3 fav. ringtones to wav and the ring volume was so lound I never seen before. Xperia is a great phone if you tweak it right to suit your needs. Once done, my advice is to backup your phone to have a fresh copy in case you need it if you tweak too much.
