Ric, 29 Jan 2009I had bought this phone not to long ago and ended up return... moreyes, you are right...
the x1 volume is not good, i agree with you..
fortunetly i always use headset to listen a music and in the office, i set it to vibrate mode so i almost never use external speaker. in other word, i am still satisfied with the other features on this phone like WVGA screen...many people buy an expensive phone to enjoy vga video, 16M color and many megapixels camera features but actually they dont enjoy these features coz screen quality is limited and doesnt support these features, only QVGA.Sadly :(

I had bought this phone not to long ago and ended up returning two days later. Don't get me wrong, I like the phone a lot but the ringtone volume is just to low for my taste. Even with the volume to the max it was like nothing when the phone would ring. If they would make the ringer louder, I would defnitely consider getting the phone again.

i see...
there are many unknowlegde comments and critic without facts for x1 here...they try to push x1 down...i dont know what the point is for..time by time always lie people..time by time they get many sins...get i live guys!!
if you get a problem on your x1, oh come on guys no phone is perfect on earth!!! it is what service center for...
computer service...
handphone service ect
i advice you, check the x1 phone first when you buy it in your store.. is there a crack? is the signal good? bla..bla..

about signal problem i think it is not problem with your x1 but your sim card provider signal because i dont have a problem like you..my x1 signal is very good even when my friend doesnt have a signal but my signal is still on...

Have an Xperia X1a and the signal strength is terrible. 2-3 dropped calls in the Phoenix Metro area on AT&T. Turned off the 3g and only used Edge and works a little better. This phone is going directly back to Sony.

i agree with you about volume because this phone for work or office and not for music, if you interest with music go to w series or K series for camera
and with new ROM x1 run faster than before and i can run 3D touch floo fast and with a application perfomance of X1 can be increased like tweak and motoscript appl ect...
x1 is very flexible n always be updated time by time..
i have been using x1 for 2 months but i dont have any problem with my x1...this is my experience...i talk with fact because i have x1..

it's either you'll love or hate this phone..love it-if you really have the unit. hate it-if you don't have the money to buy it and you are so jealous that some have it and they're enjoying every inch of it. blah blah blah. FACT: 1.people who can't afford such phone would resort to sourgraping. 2.people who seems to know everything about the phone and comment every now and then on this forum, hating the phone big time don't really have the unit, let alone cannot afford....people wishing for compliments, pretenders...hey I'm an expert!!! expert of nothing...

mstL is corect xperia is crap n drops cals n dat plus wifi is crap n case craks n dat websites dat say xperia is gd r liars ppcmag said it had da best wifi range bt they chat crap n sony must pay dey websites coz xperia is crap go for n95 8GB n96 or n97 coz der da best fonez out

to fix album picture on 3Dtouch floo menu you must install this file in : http://rapidshare.com/files/162542384/Touch-IT_Blackstone_SocialNetworksEngine.cab
3d TF manila run perfectly on x1 if you follow my instruction.

oke i will fix the step for you..
1.Install 3D Touch Floo Manila full HD.cab. Manila is the latest version of 3Dtouch floo by icje will full Touch pro application on it you can download in : http://rapidshare.com/files/163465190/Touch-IT_Blackstone_Manila_HD_FULL.cab
2.Install cmEXlandscape, it is landscape mode by chalil
3.Install second today (no 2 and 3 : http://rapidshare.com/files/183521003/cmEX_landscape_WWE.rar)
4.Install motoScript-4.1 PPC.according my experience it is for fix many problem on x1 during you use 3Dtouch floo like frezee when you select the other panel ect( http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?module=download&entry=ms_program&action=list )
5.add tf-portr.mscr on \Windows\StartUp. it is for handling camera key problem because if you install landscape mode application, camera key on the side of phone will be disable so with this file camera key will be in the right soft key.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=471610
6.soft reset
7.you can install Angelusz anX1 landscape mode.cab but u must uninstall no 2 first.it is other landscape mode application with differ skin.

Deciding between X1 and BB Bold....I think I'm going to choose the X1 but I am worried about the comments of the paint peeling off.
Any comments on this from X1 owners ? Will SE replace the phone if this happens? Also over what period of time does this start to happen...still under warranty ?
Please, I need as much feedback as possible to help me with my descision.

Dude, that's a very vague question - How much does the X1 cost?
At the least you gotta tell which country are you in 'coz if I say it'll cost you 29.7 billion zimbabwean dollars, it'll probably not help you much.
Also, it'll make sense for you to check the shops (high street and online) in your country to see what the prices are. Over here in UK, I signed up a 18-month contract and got the phone for free! Not bad, huh?

Thanks for your help regarding installation of TF3D. I'm not very experienced with Winmo, still learning.
Could you tell me what motoScript is for (that you mention in your 4th step)? And what's the 6th step for?
Also, what's Manila really? I've seen that mentioned everywhere. Is it just a version of TF3D? Where should I download the .CAB files from - the ones on xda-developers alright?
