There's a reason why many many businessmen/women ditched their winmo handsets, switched to Blackberry, and never came back, and it's happening as we speak I'm sure. Don't get me wrong Nokia and SE still have fans...teenagers...and pardon me if you guys are teenagers then these phones are good for you since you don't need features offered by Blackberry which is useful mainly for business and work. I notice there's hardly business people crowding Nokia/SE stores or events, most of the crowd are teenagers...

Anonymous, 26 Jan 2009Just read the sparse barely legible comments. I can see why... moreOh yeah?? There's also a reason why most business professionals I see use Blackberry phones and stay away from Windows Mobile. And a word "professional" on a product can be used by anything which doesn't guarantee it being a true professional product lol so much for a name. How many junk products bear the word professional why a far cry from being professional. It doesn't mean a thing to have that word, quality speaks for itself...

Since Blackberry licensed push email to MS etc it has nothing over symbian, windows mobile or any other platform. It's doing ok,but that's only because people don't realize a symbian or wm device can do everything a blackberry can and a lot more.

Check out how many people commenting about giving up on WinMo on this BGR review site. X1 has good hardware and all, I just wish it didn't use WinMo. All in all, Blackberry still rules...

Of course the NSA wouldn't let the President of America use a Canadian product ditching their own American product aka Windows Mobile from Microsoft. And what they certified for the President to use is of course no regular WinMo that you have on your phone LOL stop dreaming. That phone and the OS has been hardened for their security and costs over $3000 not available in public, not for any of you. So don't ever think your WinMo phone is of the President's phone quality just because you both use WinMo LOL stop dreaming...so in this case, Blackberry still rocks, real business professional phone.

˝Sony Ericsson Lost 73 Million Euro in 2008; Confirms Android for the Future˝

2008 hasn’t been a great year for various companies and especially Sony Ericsson. The company reported a loss of 187 million Euro for the last quarter of the past year which means that overall Sony Ericsson lost 73 million euro in 2008. Sony Ericsson sold 24.2 million handsets in the Q4 and 96.6 million overall compared to 103.4 million handsets sold in 2007.

Sony Ericsson’s President, Dick Komiyama, said:

In economic terms, 2008 has been a tumultuous year with world markets experiencing a serious downturn. The mobile phone market has been greatly affected by this and as expected, the fourth quarter continued to be very challenging for Sony Ericsson. Our business alignment is progressing as planned, with the full effect of annual savings of around Euro 300 million expected by the second half of 2009. We foresee a continued deterioration in the market place in 2009, particularly in the first half.

Will the company manage to stay afloat? Are we to expect a flagship phone to revive its business? So far we know that a PSP Phone will not arrive this year but a secret Android phone will be launched. We have no details about it and there are no leaks yet. What is certain is that Sony Ericsson confirmed again once again its interest in the Android platform. We’ll be close by when the first Sony Ericsson Android handset will be announced.

I just note here: while SE lost in sales others gained up to 300 % !!!! But do not tell this to Obama :)))

I hope you do not think that the lousy WinMo 6.1 is running on Obama´s phone :)

I guess we need to wait for Win Mo 7 - just hope that will be decent - in 2011?

Introduced in February with (almost) operational prototypes, the phone has only just become available in stores. And since there’s only one Windows Mobile model from Sony Ericsson, developments for the proprietary interface, quite naturally, are scarce. I've got my X1 last week when I saw that the price dropped considerably (I don't know why the drop, maybe a successor will be introduced soon). I have been using an iMate before I switched to SE. This phone excels in everything it was advertised... unfortunately, this phone is not for anybody... first, is for those who can afford it... but most importantly, are for those who are learned... sadly, few falls under the later...

                                  Tim Berners-Lee? Internet?

Well, internet was developing in the 50´s already - when this guy was not even born :)

Anyway, it is not a big deal - it was unavoidable.
IT was a slow process and nothing, nobody did the whole work.
