i have this phone, and i can say i am disappointed with the performance. it's very laggy and slow, in my opinion choosing winmo was a mistake, its very faulty and the graphics are horrible. if you compare it to the iphones, it is pathetic. overall this phone really isnt all that special besides the slider.

    Pls do not buy X1 until they(sony ericsson company or phone shops especially in Hong Kong) fixed the battery problem which only last for a day after full charged. This is very bad for sony ericsson reputation as I would like to mention I bought this X1 in Citicall Mongkok in Hong Kong but the stupid battery was useless.

      well...regarding the touch HD and the X1 the X1 in my opinion is far better and my self am trying to get hold of one very soon :)..
      Regarding the display of these two they are pratically alike but the HD does have an accelerometer which the X1 does not. The HD has a faster RAM but the sam ROM,
      (X1=256 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM) and the HD= 288 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM) also the X1 has far greater battery - Stand-by Up to 833 h
      Talk time Up to 10 h
      and the HD -Stand-by Up to 450 h
      Talk time Up to 6 h 30 min
      in the end it is entirely onto what kind of phone you are interested in purchasing.. :)

        also one of the shops owners told me about big fight took place in the street dut to the price drop...

        but i don't know if i will get it because i asked again yesterday regarding changing the O.S. Windows and replace it with other O.S. and most of the people said that it's true not false...

        i will wait for the next update

              What store you can find at a price of 2,800+ Saudi Riyals (Riyadh & Al-Khobar)? As I have said, price in AXIOM is too high and even higher in any SONY appliance store. When AXIOM has a price of SR3,600 you will get from SONY at SR3,799 (this is 2 to 3 weeks ago). I have been to AXIOM Riyadh and it is down for SR100 ONLY (from SR3,600 to SR3,500) but still too expensive. Please let me know if you have any idea where we can purchase the price you mentioned which is around SR2,800 (hopefully lesser now). Thanks.

                The X1 is great phone and probably the best WinMo phone out there at present. It's a great start for Sony Ericsson. The only shortcoming I may have is on the camera quality which could have been a cybershot instead. The sound output is great but walkman quality functions would have been good.

                My set is a very stable one with hardly any sw freeze and the battery lasts me about 2.5 days with moderate usage for calls, wi-fi, active sync and taking camera shots. Not sure why some people are complaing otherwise :( Heard the silver version is more stable and difficult to get. U need to pre-book or wait for a while for this.

                Take care and have a good new year ahead. Remember, don't expect your phone to be a computer ... its just a phone with additional features.

                    I Bought in Hong Kong Citycall in MongKok. The X1 looked great. Unfortunately the battery is suck as only last for half a day after fully charged about 3 hours. Very disappointed for Sony Ericsson such a good brand. Sony Ericsson must do something about this.

                          i'm surprise!!!... the Axiom salesman told me that... also he told me about the news here in GSMarena.com (which it's has to be true according to GSM team)...

                          but the last time i checked the price is down to around 2,800 SAR maybe more maybe less, i'm not sure...

                          i have seen people walking around with X1 and i ask some of them... 2 of them the gave me the same answer and i was surprised they said...(the mobile is good but not good as they thought)!!!... there is some basic features are not available in the X1

                          i never used Winmo before but i'm stuck between S.E. X1 & HTC HD... and i don't know yet which one i should get :(

                                  Guys, I have been an avid user of SE for so many years so it was only natural for me to get an X1. I have had one for about a week now. I have been using a P1 for the last one year or so and I must say that while the X1 is definitely a cool phone and good on multimedia, in terms of general usability and functionality it is a step back. And I suspect this is all down to Windows Mobile aaarrghhh!!

                                  Help me with the following (the ones I have noticed so far):

                                  1. Why can't there be a basic automatic keylock? Not SLEEP, just a keylock that activates automatically after one, two, three.... minutes? How hard can it be to have such a feature?

                                  2. Why can't there be an option for Increasing Ring AND Vibrate together?

                                  3. Why can't the contacts be sorted First Name first?

                                  4. You receive a SMS from a new contact. You want to call the contact without saving first in the phone book. You tap on the contact manager and all you get is 'This person is not in your contact list... blah blah blah..' What happened to the 'Call Sender' option that is available in the P1?

                                  5. You have about 200 emails in the Outlook Mail folder. You want to delete 50 of them at one go. How do you select these 50 messages. Checkboxes are available in the P1.

                                  6. You are receiving an incoming call. The only way of answering it is by thumbing the small keypad button. Why can't there be a large onscreen button for this? Once you answer you do get a large endcall button! How ironic!

                                  The above functionalities are so basic that it becomes very hard to understand why they were not incorporated into the X1 design.

                                  So for me the P1 is easier to use. I can do almost everything including replying SMS and short emails using one hand. I would have thought that with a bigger screen the X1 would have been made more 'thumb' friendly.

                                    3.15 MP is best camera resolution..
                                    cybershot phones are awesome...
                                    compare to the 5mp cellphones(n95)
                                    cause i've been using my p1i for almost 11 months,but there is no problem regarding the camera!
                                    i'm looking forward of buying this phone!
                                    XPERIA X1 rocks my world!
                                    it's superb..

                                        No, it's not true that XPERIA XI in Saudi Arabia is going to pull-out to change the OS. In fact, it is available anywhere else in AXIOM. In Riyadh, mostly available color is black while in Dammam/Khobar is metal steel. But price with AXIOM still very expensive (SR3,500 or around US$900+) too high. That's one thing that I never saw a single person using the EXPERIA X1 here in Saudi. I am planning to buy it shortly but I think I need to wait for a month or so. If the price in KSA is around (SR2,500-2,700) maybe I will buy it right away.
