16M vs. 56K Color :)))
These fans (word means: fanatics) keep arguing how stupi d to have more than 56k since the human eye can not even differentiate 56K ...etc. and it is just a gimmick by nokia ...etc. :)))
but being uninformed they forget that SE makes several phones that has 256K color - about 5 times!!! - of 56K!!! Is that gimmick also??? :)))
SE fooling us with the 256K color? :))))
Look, I prefer a Ferrari or Porsche with 500HP even if I never actually use all potentials compare to a Kia.
BTW, the 56K not an issue for me! :)))
The issues are:
1: Reception problems
2: Wifi problems
3: battery weak (probably due to RAM leakage)
4: case cracks
Manufacturing error /lack of QA

so, for those of you that own the phone, what is the internet like on it? i've heard it's not the greatest on the xperia.
also, does anyone know if this phone is coming to the US?

It is funny that someone who unable to reason acuses over and over again that we are the loosers, retarded etc. :))
but he call a decent contract ´expensive´ I guess he can not afford a dime but being a fan he feels it is a duty to protect a product of a global corporation even if it is out of his price range and it is a piece of junk :)))
Dude, if a contract is expensive for you how come we are the losers? :)))
I do not see E90, HTC HD etc. given away FREE!
X1 is just came out and already given away with a contract.
It tells a´lot about the X1! :))))

X1 is made by HTC,
and HTC will not make better phones for SE than HTC HD or Pro
They would be fool to do so.
So, HD selling like hot cakes and SE X1 is offered for free.
Do you have any idea how much Vodafone pays for the X1 so they can give it away for free? (with contract( and still make good money.
I bet they pay no more than 250-300 USD for the X1.
SE must know something that makes them sell a new product for 300USD when initially (just recently) it was 1200USD.
I think they know X1 will never sell! It is that simple!

I just spoke to SE Australia and they said Telstra have the initial release within December 08.
The Aussie market will be getting both the American version (UMTS850 – with Telstra) and the international version (UMTS2100 – with all other carriers).
Both versions will support 3.5G, but the American version will only have video VGA@24fps, and also FM radio.
The International version will have video VGA@30fps, but no FM radio.
I definitely use video on my current phone now more than radio so the International version it is. Strange that we are forced to trade-off, oh well.

i am thinking of ordering the xperia x1 from clove.co.uk. has anyone here ordered from them and are you all having any issues like the cases cracking and paint peeling. i am all the way in trinidad and having to ship anything back is a really big hassle so your honest opinion is welcome. i really want to get this phone

Well, in my opinion it is not completely correct to compare Nokia smartphones with other WM pocket pc's because of the target group...
People who buy Nseries are in most cases not people who are tech savvy... Without the Nokia label most of them would not buy a smartphone...they buy Nokia smartphone - because it has a better camera(megapixel hype) or the ridiculous 16MILLION colours etc
WM is mostly bought by people who want smartphone. Logically this group is more limited... I like WM more (freedom, applications, not being interested in a finger based GUI), but for most of people the simple, user friendly and closed phone is better... Most people are not interested in running high caliber applications on their phones
I hope that WM will not be dumbed down to s60 level... Maybe it would become more popular among masses, but I guess there would be a price for real smartphone users.

Comparing n97 or any other symbian to a winmo device is pointless. WinMo takes months if not years to master but as an OS offers twenty times that of symbian. S60 is designed with fools in mind hence why most s60 users think it's the best thing since sliced bread..

Come on people, We all know that it's a good phone (at least). We used to wait for this phone, give it all the best comments, and right now, some people just do the opposite things (scream, swear, complain...) all the bad comm. Tireddddddd
Right now, N97 is going to be out next year, and I swear that it just the same as X1 (I mean how people will say about that phone just like this phone) Come on, all phones have advantage and disavantage. At least BE MORE POSITIVE.

Can any one explain to me which one is better? OMNIA or XPERIA, out of their Camera, because we know that sony uses Carl Zeis Lenses which are far better than Samsung lenses even Omnia has a 5 M.P. cam!
Which one is better Omnia or Xperia???

WM 7 is almost done. WM 6.1 known to have some bug and SE had problems with it more than others.
X1 was planned to be delayed until WM 6.5 but SE just decided to let it ride.
Now, X1 is basically a defected product.
SE does not offer any free update to 6.5!
SE dropped the X1 project like hot potato, and it is about to release updated newer models in a few weeks.

I live in the Netherlands and the phone only works in dutch language. Cannot reset or change language with Winmo. Also they removed several programs because they were not supported in dutch. Bad thing windows mobile. Microsoft sucks, I,m going back to Nokia..
