Managed to get the SE X1 last week. completely floored. way better than what I had in mind. and what it looked online.

N97 has a better camera, 16m colours (the human eye can't differentiate 16m different shades, so no big deal), the 32GB on board memory and it comes with flash lite 3. Now, WinMo 6.5 will have flash lite 3.1, and there are lots of rumours that WinMo 6.1 users may get a free upgrade (which would be nice), so again that's a non-issue. So really, it's the camera and the internal memory. And, for me, these are more than offset by the fact that the X1 is a WinMo device...

I am not crazy about the N97. There is no reason for it: we only know a spec. sheet and a few pictures - according those the X1 could be a great phone but it is NOT!
X1 has so many problems that i is hard to list all of them.
It does not have to compete with N97 - it is against HTC Pro, HTC HD, Omnia, Nikia 5800 etc. and X1 lost big time.
By the time N97 is out X1 will be history.
Hikary, X5 will be the top SE product in few weeks.

It's nowhere near as complicated as I'd been led to believe, and it allows much more freedom than UIQ. I can't really compare it to S60, as I've not had an extensive play around with the more advanced features of S60 - I just can't get on with the UI. What about you? It was the Omnia you were thinking about, wasn't it? Did you get it? If so, what's your opinion of WinMo...?

ooh that n97 is a rather nice device, it must slightly unnerve the xperia crowd. that said the screen on this phone is better.
i guss it is just down to whether you would prefer symbian or winmo
btw reverand, what do you think of winmo?

Their view is that if you're spending so much on the phone, you deserve a damn good customer service experience. The X1 hotline is a team dedicated to Xperia users, so it means you won't have to wait in a queue with people needing help with other devices. Basically it's a gimmick to make the phone seem more special...

hmmm n97????? symbian os??? looks nice but i hope its not made of too much plastic just like the n95 and n96.... i like the xperia x1 because it doesnt look like a 3 year old kid toy..... metal!!!! not plastic!!!! im getting one soon when i go back to the philippines yipppeeee how much is it in the philippines???? is the silver x1 already available????

nice phone only thing thats bad with it is to much windows and not a nuff sony in this one nice try better luck next time its like the p990i but with windows

I don't own this phone but I have handled one. Its a really solid phone the thing is all metal which makes it pretty durrable. It had pretty good response to everything but the one thing that kinda throws me off and i'm not sure how to really think about it is this thing Sony includes. A X1 card, that is a direct link to Sony's specail support team solely for the Xperia X1, which kinda makes me think that there is some deep under lying problem. But Ireally like it, and i'm thinkin about gettin one.

na i think the touch pro is better. Xperia's great, not best phone on the market tho. Very bold statement

Hi to you all who are thinking of getting the sony ericsson X1 best mobile out there in every way windows 6.1 works great feels like a portable laptop with a great slide keyboard, battery life is very good. also feels robust and solid nothing out there is better at the moment will take alot to be beaten thats if it does hope this helps you all ;-p

Nokia N97 not quite good... it's looks like a combination of xperia, iphone and htc phones... tsk tsk
