Why do people compare Xperia with the n96?It's like comparing apples with oranges or a Rolls Royce with a hatchback. Has anyone noticed 1000's of votes have been added since the X1 hit number 1 spot?I wouldn't be suprised to see the x1 drop to 8.4. Jealousy is a terrible thing....

Non -stop video playback 6hrs 10 minutes..
Settings,
gsm
wi-fi off
bluetooth off
backlight at three quarters brightness
volume at full blast thru headfones
these are the settings used on all my tests so its not bad i thought it would hit 7hrs.

Did you ever heard that about the HTC HD???
What I see is that HD is back ordered while X1 gets dusty on the shelves.
I hope some sort of firmware update can fix all or most of the problems.

This is my sincere an... moreI would fully agree with the review and odd resolution is in other fones as well (ominia)..The battery i said was good but not outstanding but it beats the n82..When we went from second addtion symbian to third edition their was a good 6 months plus before softwares were updated to the new edition so at this moment the xperia is doing fine plus most of what ive put on work..
I and in the middle my famous battery test doing an mp4 angry kid video that ive used as a test since 2004 on a loop.My n82 got 4hrs 50 minutes and at this point xperia has been playing for 5hrs,,will post results when battery gone..I am using same video to be fair but its only qcif mp4 at 15fps cause thats all their was back then on three network.

been using the phone for 2 weeks now. This is my sincere and frank review.
1)the design is great. seriously great and the screen was excellent
2)all the reports saying the battery doesn't last that long was just crap and there's even a post saying it doesn't lasted the whole day when he doesnt even use it. Frankly when i got the phone first time, i use the uncharge battery, meaning i use it immediately without charging it to drain the battery and surprise surprise, it lasted me for 6 hours. and when fully charge, it manage to last for 2 and half days. its either the guy got a defect phone or he is just crappy. battery life is not totally excellent but again its also not crappy like being claim
3) about the drop calls. i dun really know why people are saying there's drop call on this phone. for me after 2 weeks its none. calls are clear and the other party at the end can hear me well. loss of a little reception happens but that goes the same to all phone due to maybe your location and the network reception.
4) about some reports saying screen got scratch when using the stylus. i wonder is the person using a needle or using a stylus? the purpose of the touch screen and the stylus is to touch it and not press it damn hard. i dun even see any scratch now other than fingerprints.
5) then there's complain about the stylus being too small. maybe i suggest that person use a pencil or a pen instead or even a white board marker.
6)about the price. i dun understand why people saying why so stupid to buy this phone which is so damn expensive. to me nothing is expensive. its either u have the money or u dun. if someone earn $10,000 dollar a month, a $1000 dollar product meant nothing and in contrast if somebody earn $1000 dollar a month then the phone is extremely expensive to them. so nothing is expensive in this world its just a matter of can u afford it or u can't and if its to expensive get another phone or maybe wait till the price drop further by the way no one complain about Vertu phones.
7)wifi is easy for me. no hangs no problems. frankly yes nothing wrong with it
8)speaker volume. i can't deny that it is much softer than some phones out there but then again it is subjective. depends on individual. if i am a person who dun like too loud and i am sitting beside a guy who like to have his phone ring damn bloody loud, i will be irritated. so again here its more personal rather than a flaw in the phone.
9)incompatibility with applications. of course it will course of the resolution. thats is why SE open up on the development to others so that people out there can modify and create new development to it
i wouldn't say its the perfect phone, but so does all phone and actually no phone is perfect not if the phone is mass produce. i am sure any phones out there thats being mass produce will have defects some how. i would say its true the responds of the experia is kinda slow and hoepfully SE realise about this and about the crack i think maybe some people use it a little to hard. so here it is my short review, i am happy and stll using it and to those who dun fancy this phone, go and get other phones and all depends on individual taste and dun talk crap and lies cos u never gain anything. this is an opinion page not talking nonsense page
i would give this phone the following ratings

Here is another customer who ´touched´the X1 and got 9 ´burned ´ :)))
X1 is hot :)
˝Having charged the X1 overnight Monday I travelled to work in London and listened to music, by mid-morning I noticed that the battery was down at one bar, started charging it. I left it charging for a couple of hours and then started making calls, about less than 90 mins. On the way home I listened to some music and looked at some web sites, about 1.5 hrs. On arrival at home there was no battery left, so charged for 2 hrs. It turned itself off overnight.
Is this acceptable for a multimedia device ? I don't recall the actual spec but a couple of hours of music player seems to drain it almost completely. Add in push mail (which is a must) and a bit of browsing (all of which is why I got this) & it seems to need charging every 3 hrs of use. I can't be charging that often.
Worse though is that whilst using it yesterday the whole handset became very hot, all over. It was very hot on the back cover & hot when I had it held to my head for a call. This was beyond warm, it was like having a hand warmer in my pocket on the way home. I don't think that this is normal ! (I am charging it now (!) and it is cold, so I'll try & work out what heats it up). ˝

This phone is the best in design, best in hardware among all the mobi le phones. The feelings for this phone when you hold it or when you use it is SOLID. Compare to, HTC TOUCH HD, HTC touch PRO or HTC touch diamond or Samsung Omnia (all of them give you the cheap, plastic feelings), XPERIA X1 just stand out of them.
For software wise, it's nothing much special but just a Windows Mobile phone.
I kinda like iphone 3G though...the touch and screen rotation, and operation of the phone is basically instinctive, so it is so far the best and unbeaten! Windows software just can't beat Apple's no matter how and i doubt it ever will! Oh come on windows, you better pull up your socks! Your windows vista is a monster failure!!!

To ALL:
Anybody, please let us know a place where they give away HTC HD, or THC PRO, or Omnia, or Nokia 5800, N96, E90 ....
all of them older models!
but X1 is already FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SE is the most overrated phone on the market - by the fans
There are some widely reported problems with the X1:
(yes, some of you may got a perfect unit , but not every body - please understand that ;)
1: Reception problems
2: Wifi problems
3: battery weak (probably due to RAM leakage)
4: case cracks
Manufacturing error /lack of QA

Not all units have all of these but one or two of these is enough to get the user dissatisfied with the X1.

Had a play with one of these at work the other day - great phone, one of the best designs ive ever seen that runs WinMoPro. only two problems i could pick up on (and they are really very very minor) it that the 2 little silver buttons on the front are very cheap feeling and dont fit in with pretigious feeling of the rest of the phone and that the QWERTY keyboard is slightly staggered (i used to use a tytn2 where they are all straight) so it takes a while get used to.
overall ide say it was an 7/10!
