˝To be blunt, the Xperia X1 isn't quite up to snuff with the top smartphones in the market from an overall standpoint. Whether you're talking about its $800 price tag, stylus-based resistive touchscreen or 3.2 MP camera, this is a phone that would have fared better amongst early adopters a year or two ago.˝˝

This was written by a known pro-reviewer:
˝The most disappointing about X1 is its speed. The handset is slow, it’s very slow. We have to wait a couple of seconds for the programs to launch, screen switches aren’t fast either,.....˝

To many PR and sales B.S. here.
Most of the real users are disappointed with the performance, with features, with the bugyy and slow software.
There are a few very specific problems I have experienced just like others:
- slowness
- software lock-ups
- Wifi drop outs
- poor reception
- low volume
I also suggest to check the unit out and be sure you have a good return policy with zero restocking fee!
I hope the Hikaru will be much better.
(expected in about 2 months)

The battery life is so good because it is only 65K colours. At 256K colours (normal Windows Mobile phones), battery life gets damaged a fair bit. Using Symbian 16M colours, it is damaged even further. This is on a 1500maH battery by the way. Talk time: 10 hours on 65K, 8-9 hours on 256K, 6-7 hours on 65K.

Everyone has their own criteria against which they will judge this phone. I am experiaing (sic) incredibly poor battery life, struggling with the move from UIQ3 to Windows Mobile (for example, making a call from contacts is actually a fiddly process, can't always close an application without invoking the X-panel feature. Overall the build quality is good though sometimes the rear cover pops open with no provocation and the slider mechanism feels less well constructed than on my wife's W850.
It is packed full of features. Wayfinder is a joy to use, sound quality is superb in the media player, video playback is excellent and the keyboard is adequate. (I actually find the qwerty keyboard on the P99o easier to use!).
In summary:
Good: feature packed, well designed, cool factor
Bad: Battery life
Hope this is deemed to be a fair assessment to those of you who enjoy offensively slagging off others who have taken the time to post their comments. To those like you I say, "Get a life".
