yes :)) the X1 is perfect! (or NOT!)
All the people who flooded the net with X1 problems (see forums) are just making things up.
As far as - outdated? HIKARU will be out soon!
17mm? for me it is too thick, especially if the phone has only a 3mp camera.
But, the big problem that this brick goes not work well. For example, dropping WIFI, low volume etc.

Anonymous, 16 Nov 2008There are reliability issues which had been experienced by ... moreWhat utter tosh. The X1 couldn't be released earlier due to HTC being the ODM and insisting they had time to market and sell the HTC Touch Pro. The bugs you say the unit has are a figment of your imagination, typically dreamt up by windows or SE haters( juveniles )

Anonymous, 16 Nov 2008yes the fixed it. thats why we had to wait 9 months for itNot really - the new X1 still have too many problems.
Actually, SE started to work on the replacement, knowing they can not sell a thick brick in 2009 with buggy software.
Hikaru (X2) was developed. Ready for release, but obviously while people willing to pay for the lousy X1 - the Hikaru remains in the warehouses.
Just, think about how fast Samsung etc. releases the phones. SE must have good reasons to play it slow - $$$$.
Fanboys keep paying big for inferior outdated products.

There are reliability issues which had been experienced by MANY owners!
and many of us returned the unit!
And what obvious is that why SE kept delaying the release of the X1 - buggy software and unreliable hardware.
If you think just playing with the unit for 5 min. is enough think twice.
I hope X2 will be a usable model. I think it will be out soon. Se had to do something in the last 11 month - they certainly did not fix the X1.

reliability issues? Battery span is not a reliability issue! If you want to run a powerful OS coupled with an extraordinarily detailed screen then i'm afraid you have to except power consumption. It's obvious you don't own the X1 and have never used. The device is actually very stable indeed.

Not only HTC makes phones for SE but Sagem also!
No wonder there are many problems recently with the SE phones.
The problem with X1 is not only the reliably issues: battery, buggy software etc. but it is outdated.
The 15-year old Psion design does not cut it anymore. Nokia tried it and failed now SE - so stu_pid!
Not only the price is doubled but the size also. Who needs a 20mm thick brick! In 2009?
