VERY SMART BUT GUESS WHAT?dont compare the expected X1 with N82,try the powerful E90.okay dear!?then you're long list will no longer be there.

I was expecting the X1 mid MAY but it appears its going to take longer than i thought,by the time it hits markets it would be an old featured phone and nothing will really be cool or new,wait and see youre self.

REMEMBER!comaper the X1 with E90 and AGAIN!,REMEMBER that the E90 got to markets A YEAR AGO before this X1 even appeared to us,no really useful and big drawbacks will be found in the E90 but NOKIA is always the winner,prove is!coming up with the E90 a year before this X1.wait for the next new up coming phones after the N96 with 16GB hits the markets in JULY.then you will see that NOKIA is working on a further step than what you think.

FACT:NOKIA IS # 1 IN THE WORLD.not my saying not even you'res,but its a known fact.

Just happens that I know a lot about HTC and I see HTC written all over this device. Yes, of course SE want to take all the credit for the design, reality is different though. Have you ever wondered why this device has a camera with HTC uses for quite some time in other hi-end devices, yet SE claim to have 'developed the handset' ? Furthermore,just about all the 'innards' are HTC too - you name it and go check on the net and see for your self.No need to believe me. And why don't you ask SE how much they did pay for the WindowsMobile licence? You won't find any reference on the net because SE don't even have a WM licence ! How naive do you think the world is to believe SE when they trumpet - WE HAVE DEVELOPED XPERIA - if they don't even have a licence for the OS ! ! ! No matter who says what. If this device will sell well, HTC will make a killing. Yes HTC sells them to SE and they aren't cheap ! Icidentally the only part SE really played in Xperia is not working propery (I am refering to the 'pannels user interface'). Shortly you will be able to buy a 'non SE branded' Xperia (under a other name though) without the stupid 'pannels'. HTC Rules :-)

and i also know they cant build a music phone without making you wear an adapter.

so clearly they didnt make this by themselves.

On Sony Getting Into the Windows Mobile Game

A couple of details that I learned from talking to various people at the Sony Ericsson booth that might be of interest:

They took care to emphasize that HTC didn't have a large hand in developing the hardware. “We designed it, HTC is just the ODM” was a phrase I heard twice. SE is (rightfully) very proud of this hardware and though they're utilizing HTC to do the manufacturing, they really want to make sure that they get the credit.

As for using HTC to manufacture it, my personal opinion is still mixed. HTC is very good at making great hardware and clearly has much more experience at this sort of thing than Sony Ericsson. Likely that's why SE made the decision to go with them. It's still surprising to me, however, as SE makes all sorts of phones and consumer devices and thus they likely had a lot of options. If nothing else, I see it as a testament to HTC's incredibly ability to crank out Windows Mobile devices as a manufacturer that they could beat out the other ODMs that Sony uses for their other products.

The other interesting bit is that SE developed the X1 as a “North American Device.” Most of the design and development work was done in San Diego and has a “North American mindset.” If there was any doubt that Sony Ericsson is aiming this device primarily at the US market, that doubt can now be laid to rest. SE has traditionally done much better in the Asian and European markets with their high-end phones, the Xperia X1 is clearly intended to reverse that trend.

Indra, my advice to you is wait till the product is out before making assumptions! The truth is we are not sure how this phone will perform. It is easy to write down high specs but harder to make the device run smoothly in a real life situation.
The reasons why the N82 is king of the all-in-one device is first of all because of the operating system. Symbian is user friendly. WM is not. So many cannot stand the WM OS.
Secondly more people prefer the T9 keypad to the QWERTY.
Thirdly it is clear that SE X1's camera will not compete with the N82's. Cameras on phones are so important to so many. SE X1 CANNOT conquer N82 without having a first class camera no matter what other features it has because the MAJORITY of people like snapping with their phones.You just have to swallow these hard facts. You keep on about screen resolution when you are not even sure whether SE will install the video drivers. What is the point of high res on a sluggish device? To add insult to injury the SE does not even have stereo speakers which is ridiculous for a modern contemporary high end device. MP3s are recorded in stereo not in mono!
You have also forgotten the hard copy. Look no matter how high the screen res on the X1 when you print photos they will not be as detailed as the N82, especially in dim lighting conditions because of the latter's superb Xenon flash.
SE X1 does not even have basic TV out. This feature works great on the N82.
In short the SE X1 is just a business phone whereas the N82 is the quintessential all-in-one.

Hey - this is not a SE device ! ! ! SE just buy it from HTC and resale it. Just like Vodafone does. I want everyone to know this is made by HTC ! Go look on all over the net if you don't believe me. SE does not even have a licence from Microsoft to use WM ! What a cheap marketing ploy by SorryEricsson. H T C Rules :-)

Nokia fanboy say thet the N82 is better than X1, is it true? look at the fact below :
1. WVGA (X1) is 5 times better than QVGA.
2. 528 MHz (X1) is faster than 300+ MHz.
3. X1 has QWERTY, Touch screen and joystick and N82 has not QWERTY, no touch screen etc
4. X1 has longer life battery at 1500 Li-PO than N82 has.
5. X1 has 4 LED light
6. X1 use 6.1 WM OS.
7. X1 is made of premium steel but N82 is made of plastick.
8. X1 has HSUPA but N82 is no HSUPA
9. X1 has VGA resolution of video on WVGA resolution screen, It means WVGA will increase resolution of VGA video as much as 76800pxl. In other word, You can watch a movie better than the device quality it self and look at N82, VGA resolution of video on QVGA resolution screen, it means QVGA will decrease VGA resolution of video (307200 to 76800).In other word, Nokia fanboy never enjoy VGA resolution of video at real quality on the ohone screen.Wasting money

10. X1 can show more pixels of Megapixels camera picture because resolution of screen which can show pixels as much as 384000 pxl rather than N82 can only show 76800pxl on screen so althought you use 5MP camera,only 76800pxl can be showed because limitation of QVGA screen resolution.In other word 3.2 MP on phone WVGA resolution screen is much better than 5MP on phone QVGA resolution screen.
11. 65000 color is more than enough and not make the phone more expensive. Look at expensive 16M color, do you thing there is an object has 16M color variation? is you car ? You painted your car with red, blue, black, yellow, green, pink, brown, purple and what else because there are stil 8 color not 16MILLION color variation.You can't detect color as mush as 16M color variation at once sight and your eyes have limitation.

Wasting money for buying a phone with useless devices

You were right that N82 is better than classic X1 haha..

Best music phone: SE with w960 and w760
Best smart phone: SE with P1 and Xperia X1
Best camera phone: Nokia but when c902 is gonna be released it will kill nokia phone.

Ok, the N95/N96/N82 is not comparable to X1. They're in different segments and comparing them would only embarass Nokia. Also, regarding size, the X1 is a bit wider and a bit longer, but alot thinner. In total, the X1 has a volume of 97cm³ while the N95 is 110cm³ The N96 is a bit smaller but still larger than the X1 at 102cm³.

In short, the X1 is smaller than the full-feature Nokias and still beating them on features.

The next one really annoys me. Windows Mobile 6 and Windows Embedded CE DOES NOT have a cap in color depth at 65k. That is simply not true, stop saying that.

Windows Mobile 6 (and WeCE) supports pixel depths of 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 24, and 32 bpp. (Source: msdn.microsoft.com)

16bits = 65k colors, 18bit = 262k colors, 24bit = 16,7m colors.

So, WM doesn't directly support 18 bit colordepth (262k). Are we bothered? No.
The reason most WM phones use 65k is that converting the framebuffer takes CPU cyles. Using GPUs takes more power and costs more with little benefit.

WM doesn't cap at 65k colors, the CPUs and cost-aspects do.

The Xperia seems is a no expense spared kind of project and I'm sure every level headed person will agree that sweet screen is one of the best ever produced.

look at N82, N95 and N96 has :
no QWERTY, no touch screen,bulky, made of plastic toy but expensive. only 300+MHz, only QVGA (VGA resolution video and Megapixels picture quality will be decreased because VGA resolution to QVGA or 307200 pxl to 76800 pxl)Because of QVGA resolution screen, the devices like VGA resolution of video, HIGH AMOUNT OF COLOR VARIATION LIKE 16M COLOR AND 5MP PICTURE to be useless devices. In other word. A phone with only QVGA resolution screen can make multimedia quality will be decressed and nothing special on the phone. To guys who have a phone with only QVGA resolution screen, they are no face for comparing their multimedia phone quality with this Xperia quality has.

Ok guys, look at XPERIA has :
1. Elagant curve design with QWERTY, touch screen and joystick.
2. WVGA resolution at 3 inches screen which make the VGA resolution of video can be enjoyed at real quality (VGA to WVGA or 307200pxl to 384000pxl is great, it means, WVGA will increase the VGA resolution as much as 76800pxl. In other word, you can watch a movie better than the original quality it self and you can watch a movie on full wide screen and by WVGA resolution,you can see more pixels as much as 384000 pxls of MEGAPIXELS picture camera on screen etc…To people who want to buy an expensive phone because of VGA resolution video and MEGA PIXELS picture camera, I suggest you choice it rather than you buy an expensive phone but you can’t enjoy the devices at real quality. It’s wasting money.

6. 65000 color. Many people think that 65k is weak but not for me, 65000 color is more than enough and smart, number of color is just talking about amount of color variation. Do you thing your house and car have 16 MILLION color variation ? you painted them with red, yellow, blue, green, purple, white, black, pink, sky blue, dark blue, brown, gray and what else because there are still only 12 color not 16 million color variation. Tell me what thing/object has 16 M color variation? Can you detect an object whether the object has 16M variation color at once sight? The phone screen will show number of color depend on color amount of object has. You know the 16M color is expensive device but the device can’t be used at maximumly.wasting money!
7. HSUPA and HSDPA.
8. No VGA output. According to my experience and experiment, the best quality of vga resolution output is only on 7 inches screen size and if the screen size is up to 8 inches so there will be many broken pixels on the screen. I think, I will save my money rather than spend it for VGA output device can show the best quality only on 7 inches screen. I prefer to enjoy something on WVGA resolution phone screen or I will use my DVD player to watch movie on tv screen. Remember, every device has cost so you must pay it. I don’t want to spend much money for device which can’t be enjoyed at real or good quality. it’s wasting money.
