      Hey everybody, i-mate Ultimate 9502 is already out! It has many similar features to the SE. One can say that they are "brothers." They both house the same processor and run WM OS. Both have high res screens although Ultimate's is VGA. Both have slide-out QWERTY keyboards. The i-mate is tempting, especially when one considers that SE Xperia may not be released till September.

        @ASD

        I hear what your saying. But the display your laptop is nowhere near 3 inches is it? I honestly doubt that because its only 65k it will dissapoint people, look at all of the other WM powered devices. For me this display is too small to see a huge difference. The feature set is also makes up for this minor drawback. And who knows, this device might run alittle smoother with only 65k. But like every up and coming device, its just too early to tell, we'll have to wait until it debuts.

              @boybawang,,i also either use 2 or 3 mpixel on my k850i,, Nokia N958GB,,samsung d900i because the limits of optics and proccesser still make 2mp the better choice ,,,

              I have lived off symbian & like it because its simple and never had much look with windows smartfone operating systems because more complicated and poor multimedia,,as in cam,,video record and playback..

              I am going to have to swat up if i buy this because so used to my favourite apps on symbian and quite clueless to windows apps at this moment,,however,,P.D.A.Essentials mag i get every month does tend to feature heavily toward ppc and palm operating systems "which will help" & not much in symbian which was why i was going to give up the mag but now it will be invaluble...ITs £5.99 but its really good with tips apps etc...At moment my eyes are on moto z10,,samsung g810 and s/e g900 and now this..

              With this being so far off coming out other models will pop-up so just have to wait and study windows o/s..

                If it is stable as Hermes and has USB hosting capability it will be the best choice for next decade.

                  I've got to disagree with u Ronald. On my Vista laptop having 16M colors I still see bands of discontinuous colors even if the resolution is set to 1280x768 which r displeasing nevertheless it doesn't bother me much. If u r not satisfied with this then u may want to wait for P5i which I guess would be a Symbian and so will support 24-bit color i.e 256K (or maybe 16M).
                  palette difference only makes a difference when viewing a really slow gradation of shades but other wise u won't even c a difference b/w 4096 and
                  32M.

                    Who here can honestly say that they can tell the difference between 65k and 16m colors on a screen thats only 3 inches? I don't think anything could push the human eye that far.

                    Anyway, this phone looks pretty impressive. I might look toward this phone in the future. Only if Apple doesn't release a second iPhone. I probably wouldn't even know what to do with an XPERIA anyway. I don't tons of productivity applications and microsoft office, just a very capable platform for bringing all my multimedia needs into one device, and that's what the iPhone does for me. I'm browsing this site right now and typing up the opinion and I must say this site loads on EDGE a little faster than a dial up connection. But still Sony will make a killing with this phone.

                        I hope they do not introduce new connectors and new sockets, i think you know what i mean? They did when i went from p900i to awful p990i.Do not forget that s/e give you a good bit of kit with their smartfones.Although the kit will include new sockets as part of deal "if they do change that is"it makes all parts bought for recent s/e useless and new extras will have to be bought again. Its a beautiful piece of kit and top spec.

                          32bit CPU's support either 65k or 16million colors(no inbetween)The human eye would be hard pushed to tell the difference between 65k and 16million on a 3inch screen.Resolution is what produces clear images, video and so on.As we know the SE Xperia X1 has the highly impressive WVGA res display.

                            If it uses 16M colour screen like Nokia, the battery also will last as long as Nokia that is, not like an SE. More colour equals to better screen colour rendition, but at the cost of shorter battery life ie N95

                                        I personally love this phone...
                                        but 65K colors display..?
                                        hmm....
                                        Why Sony Ericsson didn't make it 16M colors display like Nokia?
