The X1 is a compotent phone with a beautiful screen, but within 1 year of ownership i have experienced cracks in the chassis of the phone. Search on Google for this and you will see the extend of this problem. After a rather heavy worded letter to Sony Ericsson they have fixed it for free, but i know that this has not been the case for all those who have had this problem. Anyway, good phone but has major construction problems.

the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 features an interactive panel interface that lets you customize the smartphone to your wants and needs. The Windows Mobile device also has an attractive design and a full QWERTY keyboard.
Without U.S.-carrier backing, the Xperia X1 has an exorbitant price tag. The navigation controls are difficult to use, and the Web browsing experience wasn't the greatest.

Instead they have provided a panel solution or it. By default this panel is present as the 9 pane. But if you have customised it, you have to get into panel options and chose the radio panel as one of the nine panels shown. There is no other way to access Radio.

You'll also need the handsfree to receive Radio signals.

                  Dear Mohamamad,

There is a panel for the radio, you should find it in the panels sections. Just press the panels button and you'll find it. Anyway, once you find it just be sure to have your handfree with you and you must plug it in the 3.5 mm you have after that enjoy the music ;).

Hardware does support FM radio they are putting a better panel and driver for it so it is possible now that X2 will launch with FM, if not than not too worry as they promissed to put it on shortly with updates.

But X2, amusingly, doesn't have Radio.
If you want a full QWERTY WinMo phone apart from X1 and X2 you have the option of HTC Touch Pro, HTC Touch Pro2, Samsung B7610 OmniaPRO etc. (Complete list here : http://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?sName=&idMaker=0&idAvailability=0&nPriceLow=0&nPriceHigh=0&idCurrency=0&idFormFactor=0&idDualSIM=0&idQwerty=1&HeightMax=0&WidthMax=0&ThicknessMax=0&WeightMax=0&idOS=9&idDisplay=0&idDisplayRes=0&fDisplaySize=0&idDisplayTech=0&idTouchscreen=0&idAccelerometer=0&id35mm=0&idCamera=0&idCameraFlash=0&idVideoRecorder=0&idExpansionCard=0&idGPS=0&bWLAN=0&bEDGE=0&bGPRS=0&idBluetooth=0&bIR=0&bEmail=0&bWAP=0&bJava=0&idRadio=0&bMMS=0&idRingtones=0&sColor=&StandBy=0&TalkTime=0&sFreeText=)

I have been using P1i since its first show-off, although it comes with QuickOffice which is pretty good but I use DocumentToGo for it. My point is if Symbian have applications like it WinMo should have a few too.

Thanks for your valuable answers to my question.

I think on one hand i can't buy Aino as it is not a full-touch phone and on the other with recent comments on X1 about its crack in its battery compartment it is getting increasigly difficult for me to make a decision.
As far as X2 is concerned it is too expensive and moreover it doesn't support document viewer / editor which to me is the biggest drawback in X2 over X1. I believe X1 still rules.

                            Please suggest me.

                            Thanks

fan of Xperia X1, 22 Dec 2009Hi, I have seen good positive feedback from experienced us... more"...touch feature is close to iphone..."
This is an ambiguous question i.e. having several possible meanings or interpretation.

iPhone's touch capabilities that include capacitive screen and multi-touch input (popular by pinch zooming) has so far been challenged by very few phones. It is only now that we see handsets with these feature. So getting back to your question X1's touch "capabilities" are not equivalent to iPhone's. No capacitive screen or multi-touch pinch zooming. And even though it is capacitive it is still very sensitive b'cause the screen is recessed.

If you talk about display iPhone's display is bigger and it is probably unmatched by any other phone as far as sunlight legibility is concerned. X1's display is smaller than iPhone's but more pixel dense.

But I will not recommend you to buy iPhone cause iPhone's negatives far exceed its positives. X1 on the other hand, with an older WinMo OS that provides enough software support and of course its hardware QWERTY keyboard, 3.5 mm audio jack, a very usable camera and fairly affordable pricing seems like a decent buy. But Be WARNED about negatives :

Don't you ever worry about this subject. I assure you that most people who had their x1 cracked was because they didn't take care of the unit or probably tried to break it to see how strong it is!

Me and 3 of my friends have this device and it fell many times but the screen never cracked. Trust me that the screen is very solid and will not crack, just take care of your device and don't try to throw it out of the window! And it will never crack.
