anyone try to compare this phone with LG KS20? I know KS 20 will be cheaper by at least 20% battery life SE will be much better, but KS 20 has office editor

@Mick vick The reason WM was problematic was due to manufacturers shiping devices with chipsets that weren't really capable of running WM.Providing their is enough ram onboard WM is a joy to use.Symbian s60 is a toy OS.If you prefer the simple thing in life continue with s60 LOL

@johnny. Looks very impressive. It says built in gps but this phone is on the list for the gps enabler earbuds. If this phone isn't truly built in gps then that would be a big let down.

Windows is not favored in the US. Blackberry RIM is #1 in US. the iPhone is now #2 after only 6 months with one phone model knocking all Windows phones out the box combined. that's how much even the Americans dislike Windows Mobile, it is junk.
Sony Ericsson concentrates in Europe and nobody likes Windows Mobile in Europe. this should be the superior Symbian and then it might have a decent screen and a hell's chance against Nokia.
this phone it is doomed.

Sony Ericsson finally steps in and shows (cr)Apple how to make a phone. This probably is the full fledged mediaphone as the iPhone, but plus the uber business convenience and power of Windows Mobile with Office.
And guess what? This has a proper and convienent QWERTY rather than a micro in-screen OWERTY you need to use your fingernails and squint your eyes to use on an iPhone.
Yes people... two things with the camera:
A. Megapixels mean crap all for picture quality. I can find a 5mp camera that can easily out do a 7mp camera anyday. Its all got to do with the LENS/SENSOR of the camera, and the SOFTWARE which processes the picture.
B. People... this is a business/media phone. NOT, i repeat, NOT a camera. I know some great 5mp cameras are out in the market, but why would this phone need one if you purchased this 'business' phone for 'business'? If you wanted a camera, you go buy a digital camera or a s.e. cybershot for your weekend phone if you insist on having the X1.

Win Mobile has around 20000 applications.The OS is favoured in the USA and is somewhat unknown in europe hence why many people believe Symbian has a superior software library.Let me tell you WM software ROCKS.

one oggd thing I noted, is microSD, that bulls**t sony md is useless.
alot of readers acknowledge that this phone needed better camera like 5 megs, but SE is always lagging in video recording despite of 5 meg camera. (eg w960 vs nokia n95)

ppl who r talkin about the pixels r racists. it matters by the resolution, pixels do not have anything to do with how nice the screen looks. HDTVs dont have pixels, its called contrast ratio racists ppl

I would had loved to buy this phone if it was Symbian S60 (as UIQ has very less apps out), also I do not know if there is any S60 with touchscreen, & with 5 meg camera. then that would had made this hot as hell, no nokia, no samsung would had competed that.
oh yes, I recalled, nokia is gonna launch S60 touch interface, would be good to see phones in this form factor.
& what's about optical joystick? how it will work?

Of coarse WM has better apps.Show me a symbian app that is in any way comparible with softmaker Office,show me a symbian browser that has the amount of options/features of the WM version of Netfront 3.3 or the new 3.5,show me a symbian version of Opera that can play youtube embedded in the browser-(with fp7 installed WM Opera can),show me a symbian app that has the capabilities of The WM version of TCPMP..you get the drift SON

sorry, the Gigabyte has measly 65k colors like every other junk Windows Mobile phone.
Motorola Q2, Blackjack, HTC Touch and Shift. all paltry 65,000 colors.
