Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970depends on what u like more in a phone. heres a comparison of what i think is important:
-screen:
htc desire wins. its smaller than the x10, but its got more dpi (more crisp images), amoled (simply better than tft and good 4 bat life), 16mil colors and multitouch out of the box. se will eventually hv 16mil and multitouch as well, but wen? idk
-performance & ui:
hard to say but seems to me as tho sense ui is simpler than se's which demands less processing power and also the desire comes with more ram. however, se's ui also has its advantages with stuff like mediascape, timescape... by contrast htc has designed several widgets for their ui. so its a close call.
-camera:
se x10 wins. more mpx cam, with more features and better video recording.
-battery life:
se x10 wins. its simply got a better battery life
-extras:
htc desire wins. its got radio, dolby sound enhancement, digital compass, a dedicated search button, an optical trackball (not essential but a nice addition nevertheless). se x10 i think has trackid, but it lacks the other extras the desire has.
-price:
htc desire wins. its 200 euro cheaper (currently where i live), and idk y theres such a big dif btwn the 2 phones.
conclusion:
tough call. personally i dont think the x10 is currently worth 200 euro more than the desire especially considering it needs to be updated from last yrs android 1.6 to this yrs android 2.1. that said i wud w8 until both go on sale (in april) and see what other ppl prefer and what reasons they give for their preference. i dont think ur desperate 4 a new phone so y rush?

--> idk but i hvnt seen anything other than blue.

--> yes, wen se launch the update. till then ur stuck with 1.6. se hvnt given a release date for the update (as far as im aware).
"third, can you download any games on this phone?"
--> yes from the android market place, just like all android phones. also android shud get flash support for web browser, allowing u to play most of the games and videos u can on a pc, over the internet.
"and last, can u recommend this over htc hd2 or over the iphone?"
--> i wud recomend this vs htc hd2 for a few reasons:
1. winmo 6.5 is pathetic in comparison to android. ur probably not wanting a phone for business purposes or productivity, which is the only thing winmo is good at. (in my opinion)
2. u probably wont get the update to windows 7
3. app support. currently a lot more apps r available for android and most of them r free. on winmo they r not
4. winmo 6.5 is limited to 65k and on a screen that size, the color limitation is noticeable making it worse for photos, videos, games...
recomend this over iphone? u hv got 2 b kidding me. iphone isnt in even in the same league as the x10. the iphone is basically a list of poor specs/features with a popular os and at a premium price. in my opinion the only reason ppl will buy an iphone is cos of the appstore on it. that, and the shiny apple logo on the back of course.
another alternative u might be interested in is the htc desire. i wud say it rly depends on taste which u shud choose, bcos both r gr8 android phones. but keep in mind that the htc desire is 200 euro cheaper for pre order (currently where i live) than the se x10 and idk if the x10 shud be priced 200 euro more than the htc desire, bcos the difference btwn the cost of the components needed to make both phones is probably not that much.

Venom, 22 Mar 2010but X10 has better specs and UISpecs side, Desire is better in every way except the X10 has biger screen and 8mpx camera.And TimeMediaUI. Desire has everything else in specs better, radio included. And Desire is damn ugly to me and has that optic trackball(if is a multitouch device I don't see any major point for that). If it ain't so ugly and would have a little bit better camera I woul buy it over X10...

I don't know about you but I think the high-ends right now of others looks so geeky and nerdy. The X10 is by far the most stylish one I've seen. And the 8megapixel snapper is a killer. Others has that same basic 5mp camera that doesn't even have features. The UXP interface just jumps off the screen with its funky animations. Very sleek. That's one of the many reasons I love this phone. Plus,it's not trying to resemble the iPhone.

Timescape and Mediascape are simply a great work done by SE, but it also become an disadvantage regarding to the how fast they make the progress of android os

After this recieves the 2.1 update it will be the best, even better than htc desire IMO.
It's gonna be amoled and a bit more RAM vs. much better camera, bigger screen. I'd go with X10 :)

why not even one clamshell model never has autofocus- that is a big mistake - AUTOFOCUS MUST BE IN ALL SONYERICSSON MODELS - then SE will be no.1-- a friendly advice for SE managment - in a body of W710 put camera 3.2mpx-autofocus-xenon flash- led light -wlan - and you get the best phone in the world - and why volume key is no longer shortcut for letters when typing sms

But the price should be the same as Desire, not over. Beside Desire has all the great reviews also. No one sad anywhere that something is bad, except the camera witch is nothing special.

They are worser than microsoft and they are using a very low discusting way of business strategy. Software patents are very very bad because they are holding back the progress of development of technology in their benefit. I mean they are the one who are controling the progress and monopolizing it. I don't know how can anyone support and buy their products really... I wopuld rather work on something a little bit weaker than supporting them. Hope they rot in hell. I had iphone for a short period of time and I sold it after 3 weeks. It's neat but the apple policy is total bullshit and that is why I've sold it

The camera is said to be brilliant (and that's just the prototype). Video recording's pretty good. The large screen is said to be vibrant and has good sunlight legibility. The design is such an automatic win with its sexiness. The user interface is a winner. The UI just pops out off the screen with its gorgeous sleek animations. Their UXP interface is said to be the most visually attractive implementation.
Try looking up every XPERIA X10 top reviews and I bet most of it are really positive.
