And yes, I delete the cache and cookies often and I save up some space. So far, I love this phone because after the minor update, it has gotten way faster than before. Cant wait for multi touch though. I wish I can save the apps onto my 8 gb disk and not the phone memory.

Same goes with your 8gb external micro SD card, only 7.38gb total space is available after format.

x10 user, 23 Jan 2011Where can I see in my phone the 1 gb internal memory? I onl... moreIt's the same as when you buy a 250gb HDD for your PC, it does not mean you get to use the entire 250gb of space, after formatting your drive, you're left with roughly 232gb of available space then you installed your OS which will further lessen your available storage space & that's before you get to install your programs on it.

x10 user, 23 Jan 2011Where can I see in my phone the 1 gb internal memory? I onl... moreYou don't see it because the 1gb is the overall size of the internal storage, besides the actual space available is just roughly 465mb (1gb minus the installed android 2.1 OS and the pre-installed apps & other bloatwares equals 465mb of usable data space), what is shown in the internal phone storage is the available space (space that is still unused). My available phone storage is only 64.78mb because I installed a lot of apps. If you want to see how much overall user data space you have, how much space are consumed by the apps you installed & how much free space you have available in your internal & SD storage then install DiskUsage, its available in the market for free.

I only see the 322 mb thats in the internal memory. I dont understand at all. I try not to download too many apps because I could lose more internal memory space (322 mb is not a lot of space at all). And I often delete the cache on my hone daily. I think that helps.

And ... moreRAM is not internal phone storage, it is memory used by your phone to process a program. Every time you open a program, it uses a portion of your available RAM to do its task. If you ran out of RAM, your phone freezes/hangs or becomes slow. The X10 has 1GB of internal storage & 384mb of RAM. ATM frees up more RAM by ending non-active programs that are running in the background thus making your phone much faster & your battery last longer too. I'm using Temp+CPU Pro, it shows your CPU frequency, CPU Usage, CPU Temperature, Battery Temperature, your available RAM...etc. You can try the free version (Temp+CPU V2) in the market.
