I have been researching a lot before getting X10. I had an HTC Desire, and I was really satisfied with that, except for its pathetic camera. Frankly, all the reviews of X10 I read were negative and every one was recommending Desire, Galaxy and other HTC phones. As I really needed android phone with a good camera, therefore I made up my mind, and went ahead with Xperia X10. I can only say that except for the multi touch feature, I am not missing any thing and in return I have got a host of features especially its marvellous 8.1MP camera.
I feel that the reviewers are biased against X10, although I must say that if I had not been able to update to eclair, I also would not have bought it.

sony if you are reading this! please provide 16m colors and please have the flash of this phone fixed!. i hate it when it is turned on! it is like a damned flashlight! and update it for goodness sake! atleast 2.2 for the taking

This Phone has every thing except video calling and radio........ i think SE should include this feature in near future maybe in Xperia X12

if u want a great looking handset with good came... moreguys,
if u want a great looking handset with good camera,nice screen and a feel for the handset,then x10 is a vry gud fone. I just updated to 2.1 and downloaded 21 applications and widgets. no hangups or rebooting problem till now. if u compare it with galaxy s the differences are galaxy s has a better screen , higher amount of ram ,8gb memory and high rom also. but its cons over x10 are 3.5 k extra cost,cheap feel,touch wiz somewat looks like a feature fone ish kinda thing..my. brother has galaxy s,thats y I bought x10 but till now I havent regreted my decision. galaxy s is tad faster than x10 but its screen is the best. for me the feel is important so I love my x10 till now. whatever I said is imho..thx.
You forgot to mention that it looks like an iPhone clone...

Just wanted to mention, I've used the generic ROM for X10A. It can be found on the second thread.
Even though previous AT&T 1.6 ROM was pretty cool, this one with 2.1 simply rocks. You'll just love your x10 more. It's a hell of a device.

X10 users on AT&T,
You can screw the wait for 2.1 and update (and debrand at the same time - hell of a deal huh?) to 2.1 on your own. Just head over to XDA, find the thread titled 'AT&T X10a R2CA016', read the post by 'Lancez' on page 7 (as of now). As you'll read over there, you need to download the flasher tool from another thread named 'X10Flash 2.1 final & 2.1 Firmware (Update Flasher 14.11.2010)' by Bin4ary. He's the dude - I'm tellin ya. You can also root after debranding. It takes like 10 minutes to debrand and root - just piece of cake. I just did it. Good luck.

in australia, just got the x10 on a $29 cap on virgin mobile, $450 of credit, 200mb data, 100 free text and calls, 10 free video calls and mms every month how good is that!!!!, everything else on $29 cap is shit like lg optimus or se vivaz

there is no competition between the galaxy s and the x10. the GPU in the samsung is like 5x faster than the one in the X10, the samsung runs froyo and is just a much better handset

My interface has changed and its good,
But im still having issues to download any application and it constantly say download un successfull or just goes off while downloading without showing any download progress bar,Intially it shows starting download and then it goes off completely...'

Roar..., 17 Dec 2010No, it doesn't matter, resolution is very good even at 65k ... moreTest it and compare it with others, people who don't own or use this phone will tell you that it does matter. They haven't seen it or used it so ignore them. I have three smartphone, one is X10, and two of them has 16M colors but I can't tell the difference. Even in forums it's been discussed and they all agreed that 16m is just a number for marketing purposes...
