You can download Rockplayer or yxplayer to have DiVx and avi play on the device. That is one of the advantage of Android, you can download anything from the Andoriod Market for missing functionality on software...

A quick look at the Xperia X10, it's not my review guys coz I don't have it yet, it's what I learned from net and owners reviews, hope it helps:

--The first thing that caches our eyes is the nice and sleek design.
--And the huge shiny scratch resistant screen! TFT capacitive touch screen at 4 inches - 854×480 pixels. Shows 65k color, but it'll show 16m color after OS update because the hardware is capable of showing 16M colors and for now it’s limited by android 1.6 (Not to mention that even with 65k colors the screen looks really good)
--Then the unique and beautiful UI! The Mediascape and Timescape (performance has got better after the latest firmware update)
--An excellent 8MP camera that is FULL featured, autofocus, LED flash (but it remains photo light until OS gets updated), touch focus, image stabilization, geo-tagging, face and smile detection (it can recognize up to 5 face to save their picture between previous taken pictures from those people or under their contacts), with WVGA at 30fps video recording, and after OS update it'll be an HD recorder!
--3.5mm audio jack & micro USB port and 8GB memory card included, officially supports 16GB but 32GB memory has been successfully tested on it!
--384mb of RAM and the 1 GHz Snapdragon processor.
--Android 1.6!! but it's still great because of the SE custom UI (for example it can transfer files via Bluetooth unlike so many phones with 1.6!) and it'll get android 2.1 plus with UXP upgrade in Q4 2010 (September) maybe a bit earlier and then it'll support flash too! And the greater news is that SE has promised to update the X10 through its life time!
--And the build quality is excellent! It really feels great and comfortable in hand.

AND, of course no phone is perfect and this phone has some lacks too:

--No front camera (like some other devices with android 1.5 or 1.6) but video calling is possible by using Fring by using the main camera (it’s not cool at all IMO)
--No multi touch (SE is working for an alternative and we know that it has “1 finger zoom” feature)
--No build in radio(on the other hand it has MW600 with radio and brilliant audio quality and you can enjoy listening to music or radio, 10 meters away from your X10)
--No DivX and XviD video playback
--Battery problem (it gets better with firmware updates and by some terms of use)
--Average loudness for loudspeaker (but the audio quality is excellent)
--Earpiece seems to be a little weak

For more information refer to ravzzy(dot)blogspot(dot)com

As GSMArena says, “Most of the Xperia weaknesses are hardly deal breakers and most people could live with them, don’t underestimate the amount of hard work put into the X10 during the long manufacturing process. The delay was definitely worth it”

So…it’s not the best in term of Specifications, but some people might like it :)

and i think we agreed no reply for them, look how they fill free to fill the page! Multitouch is not basicly useless at all, so keep it for yourself to prevent what happens if you say it.

[deleted post]I say it again : the multitouch is useless for my needs. I like how you go from multitouch is useless to xperia x10 is useless because it has got multitouch. I don't believe you are very good in maths or logic more precisely.

BTW still a rumor as long as we don't have it !

I read on the xperiax10.net website that some users complain about it so let's hope it will be fix by the UXP update waited for Q4.

There is something I should try : to create a folder with Astro File Manager and to look if you we can see it in MediaScape and not only its content. I tell you if it works or not later or ravz do it.

Sony Ericsson has announced that all mobiles in the Xperia X10 range will be receiving an update to Android 2.1 before the end of September.

This is great news for owners of either the Xperia X10, X10 Mini or X10 Mini Pro (pictured above) which all currently run on the dated 1.6 version of Android.

It's especially poignannt because they were already amazing mobiles and now they will become even better !

It's great news for owners because Android 2.1 will bring a number of improvements to the Xpeira X10 range which includes Bluetooth 2.1 , support for HTML5, support for up to 5 home-screens as well as live wallpapers. It also brings numerous other improvements in functionality and a general increase in speed and performance.
