I don't know why you lot are arguing about the 2.1 and time scale for them to release it?
SE are inovators with 1.6 firmware with time scape/media scape.. far better than any other 1.6 android handset to date...
I'd prefer them to take there time and make the 2.1 perfect and be a little behind everyone else and not rush it... Only a true jedi will benefit from patience....

Wonderful phone BUT: no function to send a contact's business card via sms/mms!!! Must download app for this but it is not linked to Phonebook! This is a very basic function!!!!

Pls can someone tel me how to save contacts on Sim card in xperia x10. If I go to contacts i see My number : SIM Card unavailable...i wont it to make it available?

Sony Ericsson has announced its Android 2.1 upgrade plans for X10, X10 mini/ mini pro in Q3 2010 in selected markets which will also see the X10's camera boosted with HD vid recording capabilities.
Then in Q4 2010, the X10 will receive a further update that will tweak the onboard Timescape and Mediascape apps with some new refinements. Finally, it will get the ability to wirelessly connect to a compatible TV, and show multimedia content stored on the handset.

now media scape is gr8 but man most of my songs are downloaded and hence they dont have album art it looks really bad and difficult to find is there any way to get out of this

@Phoenix - Hey bud, I don't want to fight with you or anybody for that matter. Not about a cellphone anyway. I was hopping so much SE had a suprise up their sleeve with 2.2 but I was wrong. That's all. I don't even like Motorola. However the Galaxy from Samsung with 2.2, superb screen and better battery, looks good. I might jump ship. Sadly. Just my 2 cents. Peace.

first buy an X10, then complain about the OS version, it'll be amazing with 2.1 coz it's not like any other devices with 1.6, it's better than all of them :)
but it's OK if you don't like it you can go for moto, i say go for mileston X720 ;)

Alok K Shah, 22 Jun 2010I use every new phone in market for a Month or Two. But Xpe... morethanks but it's not perfect at all, it hasn't everything and we all know it, no multitouch, no front camera, no flash for web, some people prefer xenon flash...
but i agree, it's a great device, and it'll become even better after OS update :)
