I have been away for some time to convey my true opinion in this nice GSM ARENA web site
as a big SE fan I have reached to 26 SE hand sets in my collection
recently I got the VIVAS , SATIO , AINO and ELM and I have decided not to purchase any Android phones since still the software and the platforms are in development and still its new to the market .
I have read some of the comments raised on this site and I am disappointed that some are mixing politics with technology , , please let us stop this practise and keep ploitics away since it does not help to make a point here ( in this forum).
I have been with SE for the last 4 and 5 years and i have followed all its news ups and downs and recently I have noticed some shift from its basic standard features that is worth mentioning
1- they have omitted the CODE MEMO from their recent JAVA phones , i really did not understand why !
2- In all JAVA phones and our old UIQ phones we used to have the feature ACCEPT CALLS , and this is no more available in VIVAZ and SATIO where SE is using NOKIA S60 platform
3- As you can see most of the majot platyers are making their own platforms , still SE did not do theirs !!
4- I am so worried that the above changes and omissions will make SE to loose its character as we used to know for the past years , do you agree ????
5- as they are using the USB port now , most of the old accessories will be imposible to be used such as chargers , headphone plug , external speakers , etc ..I would have sugested that SE sould have left the fast port as an option with priority overlap in order to able old users to use the old accessories on the new USB port phones such as VIVAZ and X10 series phones.
as of my latest knoledge SE will announce a new X series phone which is similar to X10 , so nothing new there , and still there are no news for any High end camera or Walkman phone , does any one have any news ?

I would appreciate any help of the following:
1. How to put my own picture to be able to appear in the threaded SMS in Timescape?
2. On Bluetooth - is there any option to make X10 DISCOVERABLE at all times NOT only 120 seconds?
3. When you open a particular photo album, slide show setting is available but can't find how to do the slide show.
3. Opening or browsing a photo is a bit slow. Opening a photo in my 2G iphone is so fluid and snappy despite X10 got 1GHz CPU. Does it fix this with the latest firmware update? (I have not updated mine).
4. NOTIFICATION - No option to assign MP3 or WAV tones? Default Notification tone is boring.
5. SCREEN BRIGHTNESS - is there any option to make the brightness, say 50%? The default brightness is too dim but when you turn-off the default setting, it will go automatically to full brightness (100%) but no option to make it 50%, 75% etc. to save the battery.
5. At the very top of the CONTACTS, it says "My number: SIM card unavailable". Why SIM card unavailable since SIM card is available the fact that I can call it anywhere else.
How I WISH SE make font-size bigger since a lost of space (text specially coz it's to small including most of the menus).

Guys can anyone tell me what is the code to get the model no? Like in nokia we press *#0000# and the model number comes on the screen so likewise what is the code for Sony ericsson.
P.S I desperately need the code

but mt uncle has bought x10 10 days ago

and you will see q2 results of SE
moto is loosing
now moto is in 6th position in market share
wow moto is not in top 5!
apple and HTC are under moto but i think moto is giving its 6th position to apple and HTC
so you should celebrate the 8th position of moto in the future!

Hi, well I am a first time sony eric user and a first time android user, I am not happy, why? In order to simply send music and pictures from my n97 I need to download a software? Are u serious? And it doesn't support the music format sent from my n97, voice quality not the best, neither is the camera, I hope u guys are right, because I keep hearing when the update comes everything will be better.

hi guys .. i cant seem to find market in my applications ... any idea where it .. or maybe it got disabled or something ...
still waiting for someone to tell me how to create file folder inside applications screen ...
my call volume is very low .. any idea why it .. bt music plays fine .. i have tried to increase the volume .. but doesnt seem to help ...

let we let them know that we want 2.2 instead of 2.1 all devices released in the same time are released with 2.1 and will be upgraded to 2.2 specially the htc ones , so we want x10 to be equal to other released at the same time

next week verizon will test the new motorola phone named xtreme. the xtreme may be release with android 2.2 but we do not know if is the phone that got is wifi certificate. i think x10 will not make it. to stand against the new updated motoroi 1ghz, 8mp xenon, android 2.1 and moto xtreme 9mm. you don t beleave find out about moto xtreme

hey m confused b/w x10 n hd2
specially which 1 has more battery life in 2G
i mean gsm arena is telling that its talk time is 10 hrs n stand by 415 hrs but manny of its users are saying that it has a poor battery backup
plz help me out as i have to by 1 of them in 48 hrs

my only gripe with X10 is the seemingly lack of all those functionality that previous SE phones had...
maybe it's due to android...
examples:
- i can't seem to attach birthdays directly to contact information
- renaming "mobile" on the contact information to "custom" e.g. SG Mobile or PH Mobile will hide contact name on Compose SMS..
- auto option for led flash using camera. have to set manually.
- and a few more hassles that previous SE phones i used didn't have...
but considering it's strength... i can't wait to see their next attempt at android! or maybe their own OS!

open your eyes! most people here who REALLY OWNS X10 are happy with it!
questions arise from those people who're first time users of android... (like me)
and those few who don't like it...well.. they don't seem to really own the thing...

sony X10 specs are definitely better than Omnia HD! Read the facts guys. the only downside of the sony x10 is the low dual loudspeaker!!
I have omnia hd, the software support is terrible. the only stereo dual speakers that sound the loudest are nokia n95 and omnia hd. this gives the best movie experience.

Just a little add to something: samsung omnia hd has 640 x 360 pixel screen on 3.7 inches. X10 has 854 x 480 on 4 inches. That alone makes X10 screen much better. More size and more DETAIL. Because of pixels and their density which many of you people seem not to get. And it has better sunlight legibility also! Omnia hd really have nothing on X10. No comparison between those two phones
