awesome phone ever used..great features..but the stock sony ericsson android is totally sucks..so i installed ginger dx v029 now its the best phone in the world

I owned X8 since two year. Now i gave it to my mom. It is still working like charm. Even touch sensitivity of display is still intact (I saw many lower range phone like samsung n LG optimus p500 facing touch sensitivity issue after couple of years). It is very unfortunate that sony does not update this phone beyond 2.1.
Battery still backup like a magic. it will survive 2 days easily after normal usage.
X8 was my first Android phone. Still luv it.

For first time, its little tricky. In overview, you'll have to follow these steps:
1. Install xRecovery
2. Root Xperia X8
3. Flash Custom ROM

All these steps are available on internet in detail. Follow those steps very carefully to avoid making your phone dead. No one can take responsibility if you brick (kill) your phone.

Cant install more than 4 apps it starts to hang. ear piece clarity is poor especially at the streets,walking or crowded places. Poor battry. DONT BUY THIS PHONE PEOPLE
